She is truly brilliant and hilarious. I found the dust cart dolly poem very touching. Her talent for observing the everyday life and turning it into poetry is second to none. Thank you Pam
She is the most brilliant poet-comedian I've ever had the pleasure of listening to, my favourite comedienne ever. Congratulations Pam, you are exceptional!!! A wonderful lady. Love you....Enid ....God Bless you.....You're AMAZING!!!
Love her ! I remember reading really serious books for years and then decided I needed something different ..I walked into a shop looked up and there was a book by Pam ,I opened it and it was dedicated to Jeannie my name cant remember if it was spelt the same way but it was a magic moment and now write poetry and read it in my west country accent .
8/23. PA is so good. Simple words knitted together to become brilliant. I’ve heard this before but still laughed aloud again. Thanks to the person putting this gem for everyone.
My mum and I loved watching The Pam Ayers Show on TV years ago and I saw her poem recitals in Adelaide roughly five years ago. I met her and got a photo with her ❤
This is a sheer delight, gentle, wonderfully narrated , with no vulgarity or violence, true entertainment. What a memory Pam has to talk non stop and recite and amuse and be natural. A real treasure.
Wonderful. Local boy applauding a local girl, everywhere she mentions I know of and been to. We have had some lovely dogs from the Blue Cross at Burford.
Laughed at her stories as they got funnier all the way to the end. Brilliant show. The wind is howling outside and I'm howling inside listening to her clever tales. We need Pam Ayres on tv regularly.
Brilliant, Brilliant thats all I can say. I so look forward to hearing you every single day. Sorry its my best quick poem. Thanks Pam. From South Africa.
WHO COULD NOT LOVE HER ??? NEVER BORING, I LOVE THE WAY SHE JUST DOES THAT BEAUTIFUL GRIN BEFORE SHE MAKES A FUNNY COMMENT. THANK YOU UNIVERSE FOR PUTTING HER IN MY LIFE. BLESSINGS, TRIXIE, 86 FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA. XX
Nobody leaves a tip in Australia. I've been in Australia for too long and really miss the Engish thinking. The English humur is the best by far in the world.
This was so much fun, it took me back to my own childhood in that part of Berkshire that is now Oxfordshire. The school outings, Aylsbury, Stonenge and the Lakedistrict. Fishing in the Thames, cycling for miles and miles. And of course the mischief, oh the mischief...
This wonderful lady was one of my late father's favourite entertainers over 40 years ago. Thank for uploading this, it brings back such bitter-sweet memories.
I too have been a fan from the beginning and laughed so much again. When reading her books, it is easily her voice you hear, reciting the prose in your head. Love, love, loved it A Scot now living in Australia 🇦🇺
She's still going! Wikipedia says: "In September 2021, her TV series The Cotswolds with Pam Ayres premiered on Channel 5 (British TV channel). Each episode ends with Pam reciting a short, uplifting verse summing up her adventures. "
What an extremely talented lady she is. I can't imagine how she does it all, not only the composition of her work but the delivery as well. I came across this by accident and found to my delight that there was quite a bit of material I had not heard before. I loved the one about reading the map, it was absolutely spot on and reminded me of one memorable journey my husband and I made via cross channel ferry down to the Loire. French road signs, I have found have a quirky habit of either giving the name of the very next tiny village which you have never heard of and I'm frantically scouring the map to make sure we are on the right road or the name of some major city that is impossibly far away and can't possibly be where we want to go. On this occasion, for some reason we were going through Paris, or at least the outskirts of Paris when the above mentioned situation occurred. Caught off guard I made the wrong call to exit the roundabout. As a result we ended up going past the departure lounge of Orly airport. What the passengers thought was happening, I have no idea.Having managed to get out of that, we were back on the roundabout again and by now, thoroughly rattled, I made the same mistake and past Orly airport we went again. As we were towing a rather large caravan at the time (honestly, you couldn't make it up) I fully expected to be found the following morning in a French ditch with my throat cut. I can only assume that my lovely husband was so glad to get out of Paris that I am still here to tell the tale. Pam just nails it every time. Long may she continue to entertain us.
The flatulence line made me laugh so hard I nearly passed out. I really appreciate these folks with clean humor. She talked about sex but never vulgar or anything you couldn't take your family to.
Thoroughly enjoyed this enchanting performance. Very talented lady, great performer, and such a way with words she makes you chuckle all the time. Watched it twice. Wish I could see her live; is she still performing on tour or has Covid stopped all that? Must look her up to see what she's up to now.
Thoroughly enjoyed the hour. Very relatable. No small fete to have an audience hanging on you every word for an hour. Surprisingly few views, for such a professional performance, on par with the best stand up comics.
brilliant show. she reminded me that when I went away to University (in 1979) my mother's advice was "Keep your Legs Crossed" my first lad was very confused when we rolled around on the single college issue bed !!!
Pam as children during the ate 1940s we had a school coach trip one of which was to wells cathedral, cheddar George and the large white horse on Salsbury plain.
From the Westcountry (Cornwall), that is not a Westcountry accent anywhere, sounds like old rural accent from the south east to the west of London, before alll the cockney Londoners spread out. So yes, borderland between Oxfordshire and west Berkshire is where I'd place her.
So Pam (and her family) keep dogs. I suppose that makes sense given that they are living in Berkshire. Don't worry, it took me a while to get that one as well.
I always thought she was definitely Oxfordshire, and I live in Oxford. But I placed her in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, way to the west of Oxford, whereas she was to the east.
And I have been ( so many times) THAT WOMAN with the map….not helped by the fact that I am SO shortsighted that, despite having pre-planned the route, it is STILL my fault that I missed the road signs!😤😤😤😋
