I’m 23 years old and from New Jersey , both my parents born n’ raised in Newark so I grew up listening to house music ... no one my age appreciates this kind of music and it hurts my heart. This is one of my favorite tracks - we need to bring real music back!!
At the time of this comment i was 22yo and i found this song and your comment the NWK stood out to me but i was raise the same way on this type of music and absolutely love it ‼️💯
I was born and raised in FL. My Air Force buddy Eric "Big E" Rhodes from Bayonne, NJ introduced me to house music in 1988. I've been hooked 36 years and counting.
I'm Tyrone from Chicago and Ron used beat the hell out of this song damn near every weekend in 1986 and 1987, I was blessed to get him at our senior dance 1988! This is top Five Classic Ron Hardy the true King of House Music! Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles were first but Ron took it to another level!
One thing... I wouldn't say they were first, I would say you just didn't know of Ron at the time?!?! He obviously was spinning, you don't get that great overnight! He probably wasn't beating at a club, to be KNOWN FOR IT YET, but he been doing his thing, you just HEARD OF THEM FIRST say that!... Im sure Ron was beating the walls for years👀🗿
I'm just seeing this now. But yes. Ron used to beat the shit every weekend. And growing up in the Mendel and Longwood days, this song was an anthem and a floor banger.
HOUSE AND DISCO FOREVER!!!! I am 28 years old......This is the shit....I am from SoCal. I have no relatives from Chicago, DC, Philly..lol...My mom however was a disco head and my Dad was a DJ for years at a few of the Black roller rinks. Played house and Disco all the time. Even though I never heard him play this one, I am so thankful when I find grooves on youtube that I don't know. Also makes me happy to see the comments from folks who "go back" on this. I love to dance...Actually dance on the dance floor.
That’s a great testimony. I’ve lived in LA for quite some time and it’s largely devoid of folks who are into these types of joints. Who was your dad known as a DJ?
@@angelamyrick1935 I'm 66 years old and I have been spinning music for a very long time here in New York, I was very good friends with the legendary Larry levan from I Paradise garage, Tee Scott from Better Days, Nicky Siano and other prestigious DJs in the industry
I WAS BORN & RAISED IN NJ AND SPENT EVERY WEEKEND AT CLUB SENSATIONS WHERE I USED TO DANCE AND WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS SONG THERE, IT WAS SUCH A VIBE... IT WAS ALSO THE THEME SONG FOR CLUB SENSATIONS ❤ MISS THAT CLUB, SO MANY MEMORIES AND MUSIC LIKE THIS WILL FOREVER BE TIMELESS🎶🎶

Today, just like yesteryear, all you "old club kids" STILL skip into work on Monday morning singing this song after a great weekend romp at the club!!! Those days are LONG GONE!!! But thanks for the memories of what REAL great club music was!!! Close your eyes and visualize ALL your old friends who are no longer here. Cherish those memories!!!
@@JORGESANCHEZFULL Hello Jorge idk where Pam is I haven't talked to her in a while. But thank you for your concern and for loving and enjoying our music #faerae #ptleforever
The music reminds me of the Showcase, Doc's, Zanzibar, 2001 Odessey, Better Days, the Garge, Studio 54, Cheetah Club, and so many other New Jersey and New York Clubs. The 70's, 80's, and early 90's. DJ''s like Hippie, Naim, Tony Humphrey, and the list goes on
OMG! One of those moments I can recall clearly, knowing that the incredible joy of the Garage might not last... but seeing all those beautiful bodies and happy faces dancing to this song, tears were streaming down my face as i beat that floor with my feet. God, how I miss the Garage, but it will always live in my SOUL!
+Bronx B lol! it was great! putting it all together with the other girls was fun. It was a joy 3 young ladies from Detroit, trying to make their mark in this world! So happy to know u still love our music

@@denisemitchell8477 I'm coming from a different experience. My cousin took me to the Butter Milk Bottom first. I'm from the streets. He said if you like this and you're not homophobic, then I really got a place for you. He took me to PARADISE.. I got a membership... The PG for me was a get away from my fast life of cars champagne and flossing. For me it was all about the music and the freedom... Being with different people that I wouldn't normally be around... Watching shows 3-4 in the morning. Seeing my cousin and my childhood friend perform there... My cousin with Delroy Morgan, my childhood friend with Tom Brown. I know nothing last forever. There's not a Friday that I don't think about being in PARADISE....
@@denisemitchell8477 ..... Way back , huh when you used to have to step over the little wooden door in the big garage door for entry ..... deep retrospect
Pam Todd came to Buttermilk Bottom after Nicky Siano closed Gallery and moved on to DJ there. I got to sing into the mic that Pam passed around. It was Heaven. She pushed the mic back to me to sing a bit more when I went to give it back to her! OMG!
and I was there loved Buttermilk every week Nicky used to have us tearing out hair out I was VIP with my sister Sunshine the chemist with the cooler memories thank you
Masterful I closed my eyes listening to this jam and was transported to Kings st....where Saturdays rocked the best dance music in the best dancefloor of the 80's...In the world......Miss you Larry and all the garage family dearly
The sad thing about all of this along with the Great Memories all of us have about this music, we have nothing coming up to keep it going it's all new stuff unfortunately but I'm sure as long as there's vinyl, CD's etc.we can keep these Great Memories of our music's past alive #danceonpeople💪🏾🤜🏾💥🤛🏾

First of all it's a long song, which I appreciate! This is a true classic, and no matter what mood you're in, you hear this and be like I got this whatever it is. LOVE THIS SONG !
Something is wrong with somebody soul if they dont like this song let alone this deadly mix..i remember going crazy on the dancefloor on this song..it was just me and this song as one.....and I still feel the same way decades later !!!!!!!!
I remember being in the “LOFT” and David morales played one of his special versions of this I only heard it once or twice only when I went to the loft but it was epic back on Prince & Mercer in the village NYC❗️❗️🙌🏿
@@mikael7744 Yes. I used to go there a lot. The Mike Stone parties with DJ Kenny Carpenter. They used to get down in there. I remember Fonda Rae performed there one weekend that's when "Heobah" was out and she had a bowl of fruit or a fruit hat or something and hit me in the head with an orange. That's where I first heard "I Want To Thank You" - Alicia Myers waaaaay before it was popular. Kenny Carpenter used to rock all the underground jams there. This was around 1981 - 83.
I have a white label promo copy of this Pam Todd & Love Exchange album with the 5 minute plus version. This 8 minute version here was a bootleg re-edit that was floating around in the 80's and actually being sold. I have doubles of it. The bootleg has this 8 minute re-edit and a bonus beats of the piano/hi-hat intro looped for about 3 minutes. Find it if you can.
=Easy Mo Bee---i have that version with the intro looped for a couple minutes. it's on yellow label (bootleg), with other cuts on the flip side. got lucky and found it in Rock-N-Soul (NYC) some years ago..
When this song came on, if you was tired, it made you get on the floor. Better Days, The Garage, Buttermilk Bottom, Casablanca. I belong to the CHILDREN’S CLUB.
BRITTANY GOLSON True! I'm from Jerzi now living in FL. and the Black People have No Clue what House Music is and I feel so bad for them 😂 some can get with it but ALL the younger kids Love It! #houseforever 💪🏾
8:15 mins is pure audio pleasure. Reminds me of my childhood, when my parents will play this 45 and dance together. Early 80's, late 70's...what a vibe.
