Cross Operations are a unique feature of Pamela's PRO Workout that allow its outputs to be combined in many different ways. Each output includes its own selection for the type of cross operation and which output channel to combine it with. The operations range from different types of mixing, to sample & hold, to logic operations and more. In this video we take a look at a few examples of what Cross Operations can do.
This is the first in our new video series taking a closer look at the more unique and powerful features of Pamela's PRO Workout. Subscribe to stay up to date on upcoming videos in the series!

Such an amazing video and resource as always! Pam’s does some wonderful stuff that I achieve through patching many things together. Definitely one way make more room for processing or sound sources in the case. Logic, lfos, envelopes, euchlidian, quantizer and scope. Dang!

I was just messing with PPW last night looking to do something like this!! Would the CV + Gate Arpeggios w/ S&H work on the random stept voltage shape? @6:07 Quantizing that would make a random melody, right?
@busycircuits
@busycircuits Год назад
Yes! You can use S&H on any shape to add steps / link it to a gate. Quantising (and looping) will make it into a sequence. Keep an eye out for an upcoming video where we detail how to do this!

During the arpegios Its still chanel 1 (gate) on MIX cross src selection ?

During the logoc beats part, what settings do you have for puput 2 and 3 to make output 1 patterns similar to your video
@busycircuits
@busycircuits 13 дней назад
Output 2 is a /2 clock and output 3 is a x1 clock with 'Phase' set to 50%.

At 3 mins, when you connect the volts/oct sequence to Tazm-0, what is the setting you used for output 8? Thanks
@busycircuits
@busycircuits 11 месяцев назад
I believe its likely a quantised random loop - check the generative sequencing episode; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C6SqpbN2Cs4.html

Hey, in my cross ops I do not have the option of MIN, is that because of the version of my firmware? just bought it a couple months ago
@busycircuits
@busycircuits 5 месяцев назад
Yes very likely! Advise you upgrade to latest firmware - see busycircuits.com/alm034/

Not sure if you are still monitoring this video for comments, but i have a specific use case question. Say I want one channel to output ratchets, but not on every step, with most of the steps not ratcheted but regular single triggers. And I want the ratchets to be random or at least follow some sort of euclidean logic. the beats may be 1-2-3-4/ 1-2222-3-4444/ 1-2-3333-4/1-2222-3-4/and so on where the repeated numbers are the ratcheted step. and this is coming out of a single output to trigger a single voice. Is there some way to logic cross op a square wave channel with a ratchet wave channel to make this work?
@busycircuits
@busycircuits 4 месяца назад
Easiest way is to CV control the wave type and offset/attenuate so only pulse and ratchet type waves are used. You can also CV the width for how many ratchet hits. And of course self patch the CV/
@andrewnancarrow
@andrewnancarrow 4 месяца назад
@@busycircuits what sort of cv signal would be needed to do this and how would it be attenuated to only select ratchets and squares?
@andrewnancarrow
@andrewnancarrow 4 месяца назад
I still don’t get how that would be attenuated to only select pulses and ratchets and what type of cv signal would be used to select between the two wave types at randomly periodic intervals
@busycircuits
@busycircuits 4 месяца назад
@@andrewnancarrow You'd need a CV signal that matched the pattern of ratchet occurrences (self patch maybe). Use the inbuilt offset and attenuation to tune' the input for just the rather wave types. Just try it and experiment :) Check the manual and this video series too for more tips.
@andrewnancarrow
@andrewnancarrow 4 месяца назад
@@busycircuitsI don’t own the module yet. Just wondering how I’d do it. So with ratchets, the width controls the number of ratchets per trigger correct? If so, would a width of say 10% give only one trigger and then 50% give maybe 4ratchets or something like that?
@Leandrob13
@Leandrob13 Год назад
Hello! Can you mute channels based on CV inputs?
@turbotambourine
@turbotambourine Год назад
I’m not positive because I don’t have one but I imagine so. If not, you can at least have cv control the level of the signal going out so basically yes.
@busycircuits
@busycircuits Год назад
Not currently, as @turbotambourine1410 suggested though you can assign CV to channel level, when used with a high / low gate signal the result is the same as muting!
