A side-by-side comparison of the 1909 Roses and Lilies and 1910 Crackle backed decks. 1909 Restoration Deck
Shortly after I posted this video, I heard from the owner of one of the five remaining 1909 decks from which my deck was copied. Ms Jansen told me that it's a very near copy of her deck and that the AGM is also a good copy of the 1910. However, in both cases, she explained that the colors are too bright in the modern printings. Ms Jansen described that modern day printers cannot accurately reproduce those original colors without utilizing a cost prohibitive method of printing. The original colors (namely the yellow), in both the 1909 and 1910 copies I have here, are more muted than the colors that appear in my two reproduction decks. But these 2 copies are as accurate to the originals as possible since they were both printed directly from the originals. (Except for the lettering in the 1910.)
