Pamuk ( Cotton ) Kale ( Castle) is destroyed. In 1991 it was beautifull. I went back years later ( 1994 or something ) 8 hotels were build on the site taking all water and so Pamukkale dried up. Most bowls dried up turned into slopes. It is repairable, sure. But who am i

I remember visiting years and years ago, where access was unrestricted to the terraces/pools, I think over time with the amount of tourists they had to bring in some sort of restrictions otherwise the place would be ruined. Brilliant video and really informative, thanks both

When we went to Pamukkale, there were a lot more water..... Thanks to Carol and her AWESOME driving skills, you guys got in early and had the whole place to yourselves. Thanks for the great video. I live in Bodrum and we visited Pamukale one April. Very wet weather unfortunately and very slippery to walk but very quiet. Always hoped to go in the better weather but then you get crowds!! Glad you had a good time in Türkiye x

The water is naturally warm because it’s a mineral spring. Also, it’s not dirty, but instead it’s that color because of the minerals in the water.

I went there a few years again with a local lady friend. I had no expectations. I was blown away. It's amazing. The ruins are cool too! It's very important to wear lots on sunscreen though, especially on top of your feet.

Pamukkale 🤔 yep I feel the disappointment seeing this supposed to be magnificent in half the glory and heaving with tourists on that scale and the hot extra bath (nice in Iceland but not in 38C) I too was expecting it to be mind blowing but yeah beautiful but not quite like what they sell you so I’m grateful you exposed expectations vs reality! I still would go but maybe now more so for the ancient city at the back! I’m really interested seeing what Albania is like 👍🏼 Take care Sabrina🇫🇷🇬🇧

I'm Turk and my parents went to Pamukkale in 1992 for their honeymoon when I look at their photos it is completely white even the pools are more blue really amazing I've been in Pamukkale almost 2 weeks ago actually I'm really amazed by that area yes unfortunately not that white like used to be before but still amazing wanna go again 🎉

I have visited when there has been water in the pools, so cool and the clay is so soft on the skin. We also called off at a place (a hotel) that has a green algie pool enclosed it's said Cleo Patra used to bathe there. Very hot pool

You'll love Albania. The bus system isn't great, but people are friendly and will help you figure out how to get south from Tirana. There are two bus stations in Tirana, one, which is the International, going to Montenegro, Macedonia, etc. and the other going to all destinations in Albania. Tirana is a great city, fun to explore on foot. Enjoy, and thanks for all of your great videos.

32 years ago it was really beautiful all the way down. We visited there on our honeymoon. I saw it a few years ago and it looked all grotty and brown, so some improvement has taken place.

I visited Pamukkale in April 2004. The pools were not full then. There were way more tourists than now. In a way, Pamukkale looks more impressive in this video than what I saw. Thank you for sharing.

hello, the reason why there is no water in the first places you see is the daily water direction, most likely water came there after you. This is because of the minerals in the water that react with the sun when water is given to the same area every day. The water direction is changed daily by engineers, as it turns whiteness into yellow and dark. That's why it looks empty.😊

Hi Chris and Carol. I really liked and enjoyed your video. I found it while doing the last minute research about Pamukkale. You guys have a very good perspective about your travels. If I listen to all the negative reviews then I will not be able to seen another work of Nature. Why did they go there in the first place? In 2 days we will fly to Turkey. What shall I do now? Cancel all our reservations and go to the beach in the south and malls in Ankara? We will be in Pamukkale 3 days before we leave Turkey just like you guys. Cappadocia is our first stop. I have a very important question. Did you take the South Gate? It looks like it's the flat part of the resort. I'm planning to take the gate from the village since our hotel is just 20-30 meters away. But looking at pictures and google map, it looks like a steep climb. Some tips are welcome. Happy travels.
