Pan's setting: No evil bad-guys coming to invade Earth. Gohan's setting: 2 Saiyan psychopaths otw to kill every living thing on the planet and they're amongst the most powerful living things in the entire galaxy at the time. Probably explains why Gohan had it rough
@@rcane6842 well I guess technically saiyan saga piccolo is the son/clone of demon king piccolo but he’s still that version of piccolo. He was a piece of the original piccolo that escaped before the original was defeated.
@@rcane6842 its both a mentality and fusion thing Fusion because this is still just the Demon Kings Son, Piccolo Junior. No Nail or Kami fused with him. Mentally is for similar reasons. At that point in the story, Piccolo is still very much not a friend, just a conditional ally. Hell, if it wasnt for the threat of the Sayajins past Raditz, i couldve seen piccolo exploit gokus death to take over earth. Its only after Gohan shows him kindness that he slowly softens up to the others On the other side, theres a much older Piccolo, whos trained, laughed, lived, fought and died alongside Earths fighters for near 30 years at that point. Whos fused with Kami and Nail, likely having them influence his otherwise more evil leaning disposition over time aswell. It makes sense for him to be way more gentle

Can you watch DB? For the first 4 or 5 years gohan was raised normaly goku didn't even meet his friends in that time and after namek's arc he was raised by chi chi and goku when he came back
@@taiga7276 Thats not how passion or interests work. Plenty of kids are raised by their parents wanting them to be doctors and lawyers and scholars. That doesnt magicaly make the kids passionate about thse occupations. Gohan is passionate about his work when he's older. He clearly enjoys himself. No matter how you raise your kids, you cant force a passion. People will always devolp their own interests and preferences. Even if Goku had been a single parent, Gohan would still have grown up prefering a pacifist life with a nerdy (I use this word in the most positive sense) job. Because thats Gohans nature. Chi chi was just lucky one of her sons ended up genuinely interested in what she was rooting for. Gohan is not a robot that can be programmed. Chi Chi is not why he became a scholar. Chi chi forced studying. Gohan chose to become a scholar himself howver, and loves being one. I'm tired of people ''blaiming'' chi chi for Gohan not being warrior. He never had and never will have the right nature or metality for it. That doesnt mean he cant train and become stronger for practical reasons. But lack of Goku is not why he doesnt love serious fighting. He just doesnt.

Those piccolos are two very different characters. Literally. The current piccolo is a fusion of piccolo junior, kami and nail. The one that trained Gohan was just piccolo junior.
also in his defense he was training gohan urgently for survival against the saiyans who were much stronger while pan is just kinda training to train with no real time limit

This version of pan I saw in the dub of this move was so adorable that I was okay with having an adorable daughter myself (hopefully in addition to more children).

Thats because Piccolo needed Gohan to reach his peak, so he went through the classic specialised training of the elite. Piccolo was battle hardening Gohan.
Piccolo had a big character personality growth too. He was more harsh before he trained Gohan. After that you can see Piccolo started to get way more sentimental.

In fairness, piccolo has changed a lot. The difference between him during his final fight of OG db and the end of the Saiyan saga is CRAZY. He now is much more of a caring mentor than a villain that has no choice but to train him. And piccolo has no time limit with Pan like he did with gohan
Gohan trained in a time where in 1 year the saiyans would invade the at that time thought to be strongest people gohan had to train to survive so he wouldn't be killed instantly he had to be tough and strong pan is younger she's still weak she's also not been though any massive wars or life/death situations it's just a difference in age and expierence that's needed gohan was in a deadly war pan is in a time of peace and quiet just training to fullfill her own small goals to be cool along with her friends and family cause she likes it😂❤ she's adorable thoo❤
Gohan's training was more urgent.. They needed a strong ally as soon as possible. His whole life really was always filled with hardships, and considering this course of events is also true for Future Gohan its heartbreaking.
