This recipe is very dear to Lord Narasimha. It smells and tastes divinely and also a perfect thirst quencher during summer. This is Lord Narsimha's favourite drink so lets serve him his favourite divine nectar.On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, krishn Vandana brings you the recipe of Panaka which many people offer to Lord Rama on this day. Panaka, also known as Panakam in Telugu is a festive sweet drink and a summer cooler.
So, let's prepare Lord Narasimha Favourite Panakam
Ingredients
• Dried ginger powder (sonth powder) - ¼ tsp
• Black pepper powder (kali Mirch powder) - ¼ tsp
• Salt - ¼ tsp
• Juice of two lemons (4-5 tbsp)
• Jaggery - 2 (100 gm)
• Water - 4 cups
Preparation
1. In a large pitcher take 4- 5 tbsp of crushed or grated jaggery.
2. It also depends upon the sweetness of your jaggery.
3. Stir in 3-4 cups of drinking water.
4. Stir them till they get completely dissolved.
5. Add salt, lemon juice, black pepper, and dried ginger powder to it.
6. Filter it through a muslin cloth to remove any impurities in the liquid.
7. Stir well and serve chilled.

4-5 Persons

NOTE: Use this recipe as a guide. You can increase or decrease the quantity of lime juice depending on the desired levels of tanginess. The jaggery can also be increased or decreased depending on how sweet you want your drink to be. Likewise increase or tone down the spices. My grandmother says either use cardamom or nutmeg as both can overpower the drink.
