Philippines was colonized by Spain for 300+ yrs. Calm in tagalog, then ferocious in Ilokano language. We speak Tag-lish. We have 150 dialects including ilokano.
Reason you didn’t hear some of the bars from the Panalo MV that you’ve previously watched is because that was the Pacquiao remix/version. This here on the Wish bus is the original Panalo. On the discrimated line, the Filipino he spoke, “Ah, ang puti-puti mo, tisoy,” means, “Eh, you’re so white,” and “tisoy” is derived from “mestizo,” which is Spanish for “half breed” or mixed race, usually-but not always-Filipino mixed with Caucasian blood. Great reaction as always, guys!🙌🏽 Thanks so much!
He said that he is discriminated in his own country being "light skinned" or "Tisoy" (Mestizo/mixed brown and white). But he aint Tisoy, he is Pinoy (short for Filipino). Ez-Mil's parents are actually both mixed. BTW, have you guys reacted to one of his collabs - Bigat10 - Tell The Truth ft. Ez Mil?
Wish Bus is a regular size bus converted into a portable studio and it features talents. It originated in the Philippines now there's one in the US as well.
wish bus is founded in the Philippines and owned by a Filipino. It branched out in the US if I'm not mistaken in Cali where EZ MIL performed his track Panalo now with over 80M views, this is where he blew up. Wish Bus is the 1st mobile radio station in the Philippines, it's also a platform for artists around the world to showcase their talents through performing live on the bus.
This song is like a philippine anthem of unity… philippines was colonized by spain for about 400 yrs, and its a painful past for the filipino people.. that is why “ive been to spain, but the letter s is silent… pain”
Song of empowerment not just for Filipinos but for Everyone in the world that no matter what Language u speak and no matter what your race/skin color you have, you’re a winner! He also talked about discrimination he went through in his home country because of his skin color.. This song is representing his roots( OLONGAPO CITY in the Philippines with zip 2200 where he grew up ), his culture/roots/Philippines 🇵🇭
He sang in 2 languages and a Dialect… the part of being tisoy,,, he was just telling people that not because he’s light skin it means he’s above everyone else… because normally light skinned are rich and dark skinned are poor in the PH… In the chorus,,, he was calling for unity despite of our difference… the flow in the chorus is similar to a cultural folk song in the PH… I think is close to Tinikling song… wish bus is a mobile radio station in metro Manila…
He rapped in multiple languages here. English, Tagalog, Ilokano and un Pacquio version he added 4th dialect Visaya.. This is when he first blew up internationally in this Live performance.. He always rep hard his culture and roots, he’s pen game, creativity, talents and versatility is mind blowing
He's been called "Tisoy" basically a local term for white skin boy (foreign blood).. it's somewhat discriminating word because the kids are treating you like you're no filipino blood at all.
Thank you for your awesome reaction! It’s cool to see everyone rocking to the song even if it’s in another language. It is truly an anthem. And you’re not the only ones who get goosebumps listening to it. EZ has a way to get you all hyped up with that energy!
Great reaction bruvs! I Luv your support of our boi Ez. Wishbus is a bus/radio station, a platform for artists (both recognized or otherwise) to do their thing. Original bus-sized Wishbus is in the Philippines. Smaller bus in USA (L.A.). This is the original Panalo. Ez was labeled as a Tisoy (non-Filipino) bec of his lighter complexion. He viewed this as discriminatory when he experienced this as a child growing up in PH (he said this in an interview). In actuality, light skinned is highly regarded and mostly seen as positive, not negative. He just experienced it as a negative and that’s the feeling he wrote in his track.
It was because when he was a kid, other kids was hesitant going near him, since they think he doesn't speak their language. Also even with adults I think around his mother's friends/co workers in the Philippines kept calling him Tisoy. For him maybe he felt out of place coz he was a kid. He said it on Hboms vlog right after Panalo went viral.
Just adding some fun facts. EZ's mom recommended this beat from an old Filipino folk song "CARINIOSA". It will be very interesting if you will really check out the original tune of CARINOSA.🔥🔥🔥
Wish Charity is different from the Wish Bus, Wish Charity is a nonprofit organization in US & UK that helping less fortunate people. Wish Bus is a radio station in a bus in the US and Philippines where artists and aspiring artists can perform their original songs. live.
Mr. Hanz, here in the Philippines kids in the early years, there is this thing about teasing other kids by their color skin differences like Filipinos with having white complexion which they are also called the "TISOY " because Filipinos have brown skin in nature.Usually these kids have foreign blood or mixed race like for example half Filipino and half American breed .And these apparently the result of the American colonization in our country. But this discrimination were eventualy and slowly eradicated due to the changing perception or mindset in the adaptation of social equality.
He said he was discriminated in his own country because of his color some doubted him..some said he is half breed. But he said im not mix.. im pure.. im not tisoy..it means half pinoy half race.. im pinoy.. pure filipino..
Panalo means WIN or VICTORY. ENGLISH HOOK TRANSLATION: We are Filipinos No matter what the color of our skin is Whatever Language you speak Nothing can defeat the ferocity in our blood Let’s shout out loud Our victory Let’s not talk about the negativity that’s happening wherever corner in the world you are This is our Future win/victory! Not the official translation, just the closest I could come up with but u get the gist of it.
Haha please don't let EZ break your glasses 😄 He said that he's been discriminated since childhood that he's white (PUTI) and call him TISOY ( slang for white-blooded people) but he insisted that he's PINOY (slang for Filipino). He took the tune/beat from a Filipino folk song CARIÑOSA and the stringed instrument is a Filipino instrument called BANDURIA. 😊 I highly recommend STORM also on the Wish Bus but in the Philippines with his sister RAYNN. It's 🔥. Thanks. 🤗♥️🇵🇭
Red and blue ( Filipino Flag 🇵🇭) he always rep hard his roots. )flag on his shoulders too. I’ve been in Spain but the letter S is silent PAIN this bar has a deeper meaning to it. Philippines was colonized by Spain for over 300 years thus PAIN. also talked about the discrimination he had to face back home because of his skin color (he’s too white for a Filipino) Hence, “I aint TISOY I’m PINOY” TISOY (white) PINOY( Filipino/brown)
Ez said he was discriminated in his own home country when he was a little boy coz his skin was too white to blend with other Filipino kids (majority of Filipino’s are brown skin)
Discriminate in my own country coz half (caucasian) filipinos are called "Tisoy" meaning not pure blood, but he said I ain't "tisoy" I'm PINOY (Filipino) .
