Barry, your tips are awesome. No fancy gobblygook, just plain and simple real world things that the average user might come up against. You are easy to listen to and thank you for your time to put all this together. I have been using a GH4 for the last 18 months and I am disappointed at the flexibility of what is essentially a DSLR that takes 4K video. I am looking to invest in a pro camcorder but as yet do not know which one. Your tips certainly make choosing a lot easier.
This was great, just enough info. Thanks for taking time out to do this. Good stuff. New to this camera. It’s night and day from My Sony and the canon. 🙏
thanks Barry, great video. I was wondering if it is possible to use a follow focus system on this camera if you removed the lens hood? I would like to use this camera for small films and that would be very helpful. Thanks.
very helpful, I am only orientating and do not own this or any other 4k camcorder, yet for making an informed choice these tutorials are awesome. by the way I begin to inform myself on/check Panasonic as I used a NV-gs400 in the past, wonderful cam, completely obsolete nowadays I assume.
I've been really enjoy these awesome dvx200 tips and info. I don't own one yet but im looking forward to one soon. Might as well learn first right? thanks again :-)
Hi Berry i saw all your Tips, i like your tips, and please tell me how to set for richness a video, i compared to sony pmw 200 to Dvx 200, in sony its awesome richness, but in dvx 200 its very very low richness, if any settings is their please tell me,
Hi I haven't watched all your clips yet so hopefully you have this answer later on. I want to watch the clips back via the thumbnail and not have all the meta data displayed. Meaning I want a clean screen with just my vision playing but I can't seem to find anywhere in the menu that clears the screen, can you help?
Hello, Barry, I have a problem. My DVX200 does not receive the audio signal from a board in the Line input. I have to conect the XLR cable to Mic input. Is this normal? Thank you.
I want to ask some tips for my Panasonic DVX200 that I just bought. Can you explain me why this camera is such noisy in low light and how i can reduce this in camera? Are there any settings to choose? I’m getting crazy because don’t know how to use this camera in low light. Another question: do you know how to make a time lapse with Pana 200? I suppose i just need to set up VFR in 2fps.. that’s all? Thanks for your time and for tutorials on channel.
Please let me know what kind of Mat Box with filters when we film out eg Sky, Lake or River, for a Panasonic AG DVX 200, I want to fire a course footage, I know there are many in Websites, but I want your advice, thank you very much.
Nowhere can I find an answer to this question. It concerns the video output connections on the DVX-200. I know that you can't use both the HDMI and SDI outputs simultaneously. But what about SDI+AV? What does that really do? I had hoped to run SDI out to my Tricaster switcher and the AV (composite) out to a monitor mounted on top of the DVX-200. BUT when I switch to SDI+AV I get an AV signal to my monitor but lose the SDI signal to my switcher. If SDI+AV is ONLY a composite output WHY is it labeled SDI+AV? SDI+AV (to me, at least) gives the impression that you can utilize both the SDI out and the AV composite output simultaneously. What am I missing here?
I have been using my Panasonic for about a year now, and suddenly (today) the screen went blank. It still records but I can't see any of my settings, audio levels, etc... How do I get the display to come back?
I just purchased this camera and right of the bat the view finder is completely intermittent. I have to press my eye really hard against it and the LCD viewfinder screen goes off and on. What I'm I doing wrong?
This camera is way overdue for a upgrade. I'd like to see a GH5S sensors replace it with a F 2.8 constant zoom. 10 bit 4:2:2 and a better codec like Apple Pro res. So sick of recording into external records with all the added weight and cables etc.
It is very sad to know that the DVX200 does not output UHD video 50p 10bits via HDMI ... so, why do I need an Atomos Ninja Inferno that if I record UHD 50p to 10bits?
Hi Barry, regarding the 4gb file limit with an SDHC card. You say this limit disappears when using a SDXC card...I never knew that. I still use the AC160 and have your book too. My question is...will an SDXC card with the AC160 still limit itself to 4gb files? Thanks!
I discovered that the DVX200 is not capable of outputting OSD info to an external EVF via HDMI when shooting in any format over 1080p. Making it almost impossible to film effectively in 4K while shooting with an external EVF. I go to Menu->Output Setup-> and Video Out OSD is greyed out when in 4K, and when I click on it, it says "Cannot Set". This is beyond infuriating especially after investing $4000. This is unacceptable.
