I've heard conflicting reports about the root issue of the battery failure of many early EVA1 units. Some say that it's merely the battery, but Panasonic made a big show of saying it was other components as well (when I sent it back and they--very reluctantly--fixed it under warranty. Now I have bought a second body and it exhibits a battery issue. Thoughts?
OK, I did the thing. Success! Thanks! A couple of important notes: 1. Your video does not clearly show the VERY IMPORTANT part of how to remove the battery from it's caddy without risking damage to the circuit board. The other poster is correct that removing the front plate surrounding the lens (just five more screws) makes it much easier to replace the side panel...it also makes it much easier to remove the side panel! 3. In the USA market, the complete model number for the battery is ML614s/ZTN. The "ZTK" is the identical battery but for the Japanese market. The ZTN version is readily and cheaply available.
That's not an easy job. It requires micro soldering. It could be the chip or a component near the chip that's failed. It will likely have a product code on it, you can search for that.
