Useful video Thankyou. I just got delivered the FZ300 (Fz330 here in UK), but reassuring you’ve confirmed the reasons I chose it. Generally better quality images and video than other budget ones checked, pretty compact size, decent enough zoom, articulating screen, nice other features (can see me trying 4k video picture grab on my son’s volleyball playing.). Weather resistant is great for travel too. It seems to fare very well against the 2500 while being the useful all rounder. I don’t mind the lesser low light performance for sensor size given all the upsides for me. Time to give it a try !

The video quality in 4K from the FZ300 is out of this world consider how small the sensor is and almost 10 years old!

Good comparison, thank you. I think the FZ300 is for me and it suits my budget for a bridge camera. I need to shop around now for the best deal, initial shopping comparisons show very little competition in pricing, are Panasonic and \ or retailers manipulating the prices here in the UK (would not be surprised if they were - we are regularly abused in this way). All of that said I have the option of looking at other cameras\suppliers.

I love your content, but I must say: don't know about the 2500, but the 300 has an HDR effect (aside from built-in HDR), which limits you somewhat because of the fixed ISO400, but provides great results for blown out skies. :)

I love the FZ300, it was one of the cameras on my recent film Subway Shark. I don't think there's a better camera in that price point

Have the Fz 300 great in good lighting situattions. Also have micro four thirds OM 5. Shooting in higher ISO no comparison. Fz 300 great bang for buck! I agree with your comment at end that newer bridge cameras with the newer technology could make buying cameras with multiple lens obsolete. Could cut into profits for camera companies.Also newer editing software can help de noise on higher ISO with FZ 300

Great video thank you.. I pre-ordered the FZ2500 back in 2016 due to the fact I owned from 2006 onwards, fz30 , fz100 fz200, fz1000 and now the fz2500. I'm months away of being 70 years old and once used slr's with interchangeable lenses. I knew no better until the lumix fz30. As a motorsports photographer (drag racing) I had to get use to the fact "one lens" does it all. Long story short. My forte in motorsports photography is blurred background. The fz2500 with the built in ND filter has produced some fantastic results, results I could no achieve by screw on the lens filters.. I ditched the slr's in favour for the bridge. I would buy without a doubt a new Lumix if Panasonic would build a micro four thirds bridge, but that dream is long gone..

Hi there. Wow, you certainly have a long history with Panasonic cameras. Your field sounds very interesting with motor sports. Did you use manual focus as I would think the slower AF on some of these cameras might be difficult to pick up such fast action? But yes, a micro 4/3 bridge seems like a distant dream. For now, this is what we have! Thanks so much for sharing and for your comment

Great video good content, these Panasonic bridge cameras are superb, very easy to take great videos and photos with minimal effort, I own the fz1000 original, thinking of upgrading to the 2500 for more video features 😁😂

I really appreciate this comparison. I was looking to trade my Sony a6000 for a bridge camera with a do it all lens. I did not enjoy changing lenses, always worried about the sensor being compromised. I finally decided to go with the fz2500, mainly because of the bigger sensor size, in hopes of better picture quality. It arrived today, so super excited to learn all the settings and hopefully get some decent results with it. The Sony rx10 iv was just out of my price range, so I decided that the fx2500 would be my next best option. Thanks for reviewing these older cameras that still seem relevant.

Hi there! Best of luck with your 2500. You may want to check out my video on the FZ80 as well, (even though you didnt buy that model) because it goes into depth on some of the special features of the cameras (both have them the 2500 and 80) that you may be interested in. Thanks for the comment!

I got one and was always thinking if it was my not knowing about cameras enough to differentiate a good picture from average one. I thought it was me thinking the pictures of the 300 was very good. But you made it clear the 300 it’s a very good camera for daily use. Pictures are very sharp.

Great comparison! I find the video when zoomed in on both of these to be unusable. There is a small micro jitter that gives me anxiety when watching. Ive noticed most bridge cameras with large telephoto lens do this. I dont know of any that have solid stabilisation like what I have on my G9ii. And the Panasonic vx-1 handicam has amazing stabilisation, I just wish they could have the same stabe in these other cameras. I would love to see a new version of the fz80 with rock solid stabe. I think the manufacturers think we dont care about bridge cameras any more or handy cams but I love them!
@techtoremember8096
@techtoremember8096 Месяц назад
Hi there! Thanks for the comment. I would agree at the long end, the stabilization isn't perfect. I am actually working on a WXf1 (same as VX-1) video to test the stabilization as well.

@@techtoremember8096 cool man I look forward to watching it. The vx-1 is an amazing tool for capturing random moments, I’m not sure why they seemed to have stopped making handy cams. I had the hx1500 and compared it to the vx-1 and was surprised how good the vx-1 holds up to its bigger more expensive brother. If only the vx-1 could do 10bit vlog and higher frame rates it would be an amazing tool

We want better bridges, I don't know why they do not simply use theese same bodies and introduce phone's sensors and processors on it... but I suspect that yes, as you said, they only want to sell expensive glasses and FF bodies, and the rest just go for the phones :( imagine something like a littya900 sensor with that fz2500 body and optics... just will destroy the micro43/APSC/FF market for consumer use

I dont need 4k video, I like 1080p, so please, which one will give the best stabilized 1080 video ? It's an answer that I cant seem to find anywhere!
@techtoremember8096
@techtoremember8096 Месяц назад
The stabilization on both cameras in 1080p is close, with the edge going to the FZ300. Its a bit easier stabilizing a smaller sensor so the 300 gets the edge but they are both good and very close.

Hi there I do not have a review of 70, however the 80 and 70 are very similar,. the big difference is the video resolution. The 80 can shoot in 4k/30 and the 70 is restricted to 1080p

@techtoremember8096
@techtoremember8096 Месяц назад
I did a review of the SX70 which is the successor to the 60hs and I really like the FZ300 more than than the 70 which means I would like it even more than the 60! I think the FZ300 delivers better image quality, low light and stabilization but its only 1/2 the zoom range of the Canons. Most of the time, however, 600mm is more than enough unless you are doing serious birding etc.

The RX10IV is my favorite bridge camera in terms of image quality, features etc. but that is also older. Unfortunately it seems that the manufacturers have abandoned these kind of cameras and that is why they are on the older side ..they have not yet had any replacements! If you want something more modern , you'll have to go with a mirrorless camera and interchangeable lenses but there are many people who still prefer the all in one design and that is why they have a following.

In photo, most bridge cameras perform well, but when you go to video 4K, ALL suck, they are a world away, not even near of what any mft can give with a cheap lens (lets not tal about leica lenses), I've tried half a dozen of them, all returned to the sellers, when you later do a digital 2X zoom in FCPX, the deficiencies get hugely amplified. Shooting family videos?, OK, but do not go further than that...and I include the Sony Rx 10 IV. Half a century working in the field gives me a good perspective.... www.youtube.com/@CarloFerraro
