Delightfully done and very informative. I recently purchased the G7 and am learning more every day. Your video pointed out features I was not aware of. Thanks!
Not only the best camera review, but probably best video review I've ever seen! Very well done! You seem knowledgeable and the video was structured amazingly well. You told almost everything there is to know on this camera without making a 30 minute long video. Definitely subscribing!
I really like this review, it is non-commercial, it's not advertising the camera.. and totally professional.. and really in-depth.. I enjoyed every part of if... as well as the entire structure... (which is also very professional) congratulations and thanks !!
Great review! I've got a G7 and love it. I bought it to learn about 4K video, but even as a stills camera it's a very pleasurable experience to shoot with. I attribute this to its very lightweight and many exposed controls. I just wish it had a bit more weather-sealing. Anyway I really liked your video footage, especially of the coast where the graded water was much bluer. Looking forward to watching future reviews by you.
Damn, that was an INCREDIBLE amd infirmative review. You actually explained a lot more things that I didn't see other reviews talk about. Like how the viewfinder behaves when something is close to the camera or how it always turnd on when the flip-out screen is closed. Thank you so much!
This was a great video! by far the best Panasonic G7 review out there and SUPER informative, you covered many things I didn't know about the camera like the adjustable focus profiles and delayed shutter. I am definitely going to buy this camera in the near future :) thank you for making this video can't wait to see more! earned my sub!
best review out there, man Kudos to you, this was really easy to understand, technical review but not to overwhelming technical and not trying to be a smart ass like other reviews (and i've seen more than 30 for the last 2 days), i got sold by this, will get my G7
Nice Video ! Good job on your video - Keep them coming !!! I like the way you put sections to your video, you may want to mentioned the timestamp of each section for easier navigation
Wow! That was your first review? That was incredibly well done! You obviously spent a lot of time and put a lot of thought and preparation into that. I'm thinking of buying the new Lumix G85, but I'm still considering the G7 because it is so much cheaper. Thank you for your great review.
+Tim Hiatt Thanks for your kind words :) The G85 has a lot of great features, but it's probably not worth the upgrade coming from a G7. However, in your case I'd consider it more seriously, the in-body stabilization can be a lot of help!
It was a great review. I want to buy this camera for shooting stills mainly. I very appreciate fully articulated screen and overall I like it. Probably won't use it for videos very much but kind a like to have a good video option, just in case. What do you think, is it good for me?
Great review and thanks for linking to your sample pictures. It takes some great still/vid shots and you're a good photographer :) I wanted to ask, how well do the RAW still files take to being pushed in the shadows? Does it have a reasonably good dynamic range?
+ProfessionalAesthete First off, thanks! :) I deem the DR to be good enough, but having tried just a handful of cameras I wouldn't know how it stacks up with other models.
g7 user here. i am still a fan of this camera. only specs missing are: headphone jack, better autofocus in video and stabilization (which the successor g85 has!) thank you for the effort and the review. thumbs up.
Good comprehensive review for those interested. Question: Seeing that the G7 has no headphone jack to monitor audio, can a Zoom H5 portable audio recorded be connected as a pass-through to the hotshoe and then monitored through the external (Zoom H5) microphone headphone jack? How do you monitor audio without the headphone jack on the G7?
+EPH S I honestly hardly ever need to record audio in-camera, because I mostly record it directly via PC, so I haven't looked for a workaround for the lack of a headphone jack. Sorry I can't help about that, but feel free to ask if you have other questions!
+The Nerd Herd Not a problem. I'm researching it as much as possible. It sounds like the G7 is pretty solid, especially as I am new to video making. Is the kit lens 14-42mm decent for stabilization? I know you mentioned it as being decent. Thanks for your quick reply. Nice review.
+The Nerd Herd Mainly indoors for corporate type interviews and some b-roll shots. I may plan to use a monopod and do a few weddings from time to time.
+EPH S The monopod + the lens stabilization should be more than enough, even if a tripod it's always the best solution for interviews and b-roll in my opinion. The monopod is probably handier for weddings.
what lens option would you prefer for travel/walk-around video ? I want a all-in-one lens with stablization . and some fast lens for low light situations p/s : nice video man love it
+TuBeso I just use the 14-42 for basically everything. Good range, built-in OIS and decent sharpness. Not the best in low light though. For that I use either my Olympus Auto-S 50mm f/1.8 or my Soligor 35-70mm f/2.5-3.5, but neither of the two has OIS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And thanks!
-5 -5 -2 -2, but don't get too fixated on the numbers! As for the color grading, take a look at this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LDL2WO-Msks.html
This is truly a great camera...I bought it a few weeks ago and just got the 25mm 1.7 lens discounted for $100....two more lenses and I think I'll be set for just about any situation for photo or video..I'm considering a speed boosting adapter like the Metabones but don't want to spend $650... anyone with opinions of the new Kipon Baveyes II AF .76 reducing AF adapter?
+The Fow If you want something similar in terms of size and weight and at the same price, the A6000 is a really nice option for stills, and it's not bad at videos either (no 4K though). Take a look at this review if you wanna know more, I always trust their judgment: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-llmciAKNq9c.html
I thought this was a great review vid. Thanks or mentioning the price difference between the g7 and many of its competitors. That is a point too few reviewers talk about.
Hi.. Based on some youtube review on panasonic G7, am very pleased with it and planning to buy, request you to give your opinion on the same, my usage predominantly 60% video and rest images. And if you are also recommending G7, should i go with the kit lens 14-42 or 14-140 (video recording should be sharp), please guide...Thanks
+Ivar Rain I strongly recommend the G7 for video. The choice between the 14-42 and the 14-140 is the maximum zoom, which is longer on the 14-140. I personally do not need all that zoom so I went for the 14-42, but if you plan to shoot maybe sports or wildlife, the extra reach of the 14-140 can come in handy.
+OcchioDiTeo haha I know what you mean, I've heard about the awful battery life of the a7 series! By the way, I was thinking about the 4 hours of video shooting of the GH4, that is insane.
Dude can you help me? When im photo the result is great on the camera but when im transfer it to pc or smartphone the result of photo become sucks. But for video its ok.
+GateLock Productions As I mentioned in the video, it should be possible, but I haven't tried one personally. If you're just interested in an external monitor and not an external recorder (like a Shogun) you can always use the Panasonic app and see the image live on your smartphone or tablet
Honestly I have recorded FHD like twice in total, 4K quality is just unreachable. However, never had issues with 4K, so I'm guessing you won't have problems in FHD either
Can Someone Help me, I have my camera on single photo mode but it still is taking burst photos (Or at least sounds like it) When I change to iA it only takes one photo which I want, so how do I get it to take one photo on manual?
