Panasonic cordless phones will put the leading 1 in front of 10-digit phone numbers, unless you call back the number after removing the 1, in which case it will remember to always display that way. That's why the 1 didn't appear in front of your phone number in this video. If you turn off Caller ID Edit, your edits won't be remembered and the leading 1 will always show. This feature works for the 4 most recently edited area codes, and turning it off will delete those area codes and their dialing pattern edits. This feature is likely why US models don't have the area code feature, as this feature serves the same purpose but for not just 1 but 4 area codes. If the caller ID includes the leading 1, this feature will not work. Cell phones do this, so the Cell2Jack will always send the leading 1 with the caller ID, so this feature won't work on it.

1:45 Did she say, "Call from: UA Skunk Spray"?
@Classic_Electrics
@Classic_Electrics 5 дней назад
It was supposed to be "Ew, a skunk sprayed!" but I'm guessing that wouldn't fit. Of course, it also mispronounced what it was given!
@MsAussie83

@@Classic_Electrics I wonder if the KXTGF975 has the same kind of Caller ID voice. I'm hopefully gonna purchase one of those soon, as my current phone, a Northwestern Bell Big Button Plus 20200 corded phone, is on the blink a little bit. For example, it sounds like there's a short in the internal components, as the audio crackles constantly when talking on the phone, no matter whether it's the handset or speakerphone.
@Classic_Electrics
@Classic_Electrics 5 дней назад
@@MsAussie83 I believe it does. But perhaps your issue is something in the line, instead of the 20200 phone; do you have another phone you could test out?
@MsAussie83
@MsAussie83 5 дней назад
@@Classic_Electrics No I don't. And, it's definitely the phone, as when I turn the volume control wheels, I definitely hear crackling. And, when I shift positions, the handset cord seems to do something that makes the audio crackle. Other people have had these same issues, and they have said it's definitely the phone, not the line.
@Classic_Electrics
@Classic_Electrics 5 дней назад
@@MsAussie83 Ah, alright. That sounds like an oxidation issue, which would be pretty easily fixable with DeoxIt, but I can understand not wanting to spend time and money on it. I will say, though, that Northwestern Bell made better phones than Panasonic does today.
