Also shows his power of visualizing the song and composing for the situation. Such dedication to the craft is rare and refreshing. I have tears in my eyes everytime I hear the string piece that follows the Sa Ma Sa Ma. In RDs rehearsal track you can hear him exclaim “Kya atmosphere hai!” as he repeatedly sings that tune over and over gain … There will be none other like my loRD 🙏
Reason behind entering into Malkauns from Bilawal during entering into 3rd Anatara was situation in the picture was evening while truck was moving into a village. This is pamchamda 🙏
Thanks Maddyda This incident was narrated by Pt Ulhas Bapat in one of live show. As he was sitting in front he could watch complete confused faces of Sapanda and other over SAMA. At last he asked Panchamda about why he asked chorus to say SAMA instead of pasa , Panchamda explained that in film as hero ,driver is while driving the truck reached to the village by evening time by the time the song reaches the third stanza; so to change mood to evening Panchamda changed pasa to sama of evening raga Malkaunsa. And he added that he could do this only which Gulzar !! Simply great!!!

The point you mention is where he sings the line "KHUSH RAHO". He sings it on the notes "Sa Sa Ma"....then he changes "Sa Pa Ma" (singing the words on those notes)....then he says that. In the final song, Kishore da always sang "Sa Pa Ma" throughout the song. Pancham was irresistible. Pun intended.
