That was an absolute delight to watch - thank you, and congrats about your skills! Also, it looks like more than "15 people" viewed this video, after all ;-)
Mathematically speaking the Medic can remove more cubes than the Containment Specialist under ideal conditions, although the CS has more ways of reaching its maximum cube removal per turn (4) than the Medic does (6), since the Medic needs two 3 cube cities close enough together to reach in only two moves. The CS is better at, well, containment. Under ideal conditions it can take 4 3-cube cities down to 2 cubes each, whereas the Medic can only deal with 2 cities in one turn. The CS can also deal with problems further apart, which is boosted by the fact that their power can work when combined with a movement expert like the Dispatcher or Pilot.
I agree with this! Although I’d say that in my hundreds of plays, I have found conditions more optimal for the Medic than the CS. The CS is better when things are worse (ie, multiple trouble spots close together), but the Medic is better at avoiding those situations in the first place.
Now that's the amount of research stations I like to see, lol! I also think the containment specialist is just worse than the medic, especially once you have a cure or two. In principle the containment specialist is better when the disease is not cured and worse than the medic when it is, but in practice you don't cure all the diseases at the end, you tend to do them in a staggered fashion. Specialist is only better if you go for containment the whole game and just never go for eradications at all, but I prefer to go for at least one eradication and the medic is just better for that. Both combo well with the Dispatcher though. I think you forgot to increase the outbreak tracker properly for the Sao Paulo outbreak (should have moved twice) but you still won so it doesn't matter.
I agree that the Containment Specialist simply feels objectively worse than the Medic. It's confusing. In the next video, I have another role to complain about :).
