I feel extremely good reading comments with listening this masterpiece, still so many people exist who love divine music, they must be good humane being in this cunning world..
Exactly. I share the same feeling with you. It may not be possible for everyone to understand the complexities and nuances of ragas. If one flows with the music, it can be extremely invigorating and soothing.
We loved Ravi. In the 60's, I saw him in S.F at a 4 day music show. In his 80's he was a different man from decades previous. I prefer this 1974 thing. The latter years were more about family. But, he was family to us too, a dear but very heavy thing.
Pt.Ravi's hand slides over the Sitar. The relation between him and the instrument is of soulmates, Where the one knows minutest of detail of the partner. Pandit ji is immersed into the love of it...divine ❤️
Beyond this universe! Indian classical is the only form of music that can take you closer to Moksha, the only peaceful form of music that gives fulfilment to the soul! It talks straight with God! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I salute the late Pt. Ravi Shankar ji and all the other artists! ❤❤❤
Hard to decide what I enjoy more about about it? Sitar or Tabla? This music just liberates you. I feel like playing tabla sitting alone in the himalayas, just in my shorts!
If I were a young man I think I would begin my studies on tabla and when I had acquired a thorough knowledge of rhythm I would venture to explore the sitar.
It is so difficult to play rhythmic instruments like that - you must shine but not not outshine . His son Zakir Hussain is carrying his flag now - most admirably....
Great luck of that baby.. i felt in dreams hearing "fortunate son" of CCR.( great but) but this is sublime i found this master when i was 10 years old.. good father and mother of your baby ..
My baby used to fall asleep to Greek Rembetica. Both sitar and bouzouki have very high-pitched sounds which perhaps catch the attention of babies in ways other instruments can't 🙂
What a way to present this Raag in 25 minutes. What is always stunning in his presentations is the way he starts the druta gaat and how he ends it so early......making you long and want more....the secret of his meticulous presentation and unparalleled genius.
This man absolutely connected to that instrument, he was feeling all of it, absolutely incredible. Even more astounding when you realize everything played is mathematically correct. He is following a perfect rhythm.
I have lost for words, one of the most heart felt of Ravi Shankar with ustad allah rakha on the tabla, pure Indian classical. I can sit peacefully and relax and hear this eyes shut to hear the great Pandit Ravi Shankar.
I would keep his masterpiece in private mehfil in 50s, available in YT, above this professional performance This is clear, meticulous and brilliant but that was simply breathtaking ; dreamwalking with new phrases springing up in every step.
This is undoubtedly one of my favorites, yes, a masterpiece. Ravi/Alla Rakha were at their peak, genius!!! Best of all, I was there. I miss those days of all night concerts!
Master Ravi playing on my nerve strings, ultra good:)))) A true master, sitar god. I'm a weak practicioner on guitar...pff., I'm felling myself weak and enthralled at once when I'm listening this fine music...so much to learn:)
My ears are on fire!! What an amazing treasure preserved from almost half a century ago!!! I was in 3rd grade then! The video and audio quality are phenomenal for that time!!! Many thanks to the one who posted this! ❤️
ari ae ree aa ree pia bin . sakhi kal naparrat mohe ghari pal chhin bin .. if there is god in this world somwhere you can feel his presence in our classical music this is rag yaman kalyan hai hai
I enjoy the intensity of his sitar vadan which we do not see in any other player. Totally committed and we are attracted to him like a moth to a flame. Simply wonderful, nothing there to compare.
I am 24 year old but I never found such peace in today’s music or songs since at the of 21 I have been listening and still listening it feel as if it is something God Vishnu or Shiva’s Music which has been played for them and we human are also witnessing it ❤❤ ॥हर हर महादेव ॥
Really Adjective words getting deficit to narrate this playing of Sitar and Tabla by two the most respected Musical Maestros Pandit Ravi Shankar and Ustad Allah Rakha on stage in the year 1974.Pandit Ravi Shankar composed music for """Pather Panchali""a movie directed by another respected WORLD Class Maestro late Satyajit Ray in the year 1955.Pandit Ravi Shankar composed music for another Bengali movie by Satyajit Ray the name I am unable to remember. Whatever Pandit Ravi Shankar himself is only can be compared but as an fan and fond of his Sitar playing it is really needful to write so reading after so many comments made by his admirers having been impressed stupendously just want to say this great classic Maestro of Music is epoch making legend and Conquerer of times as long as this Earth exists. Thanks a lot for uploading such magnificent video for the audiences of Music lovers of the world. 30/9/21/.
Ravi Shankar the God who lived when i lived.. Ravi Shankar made this small little planet a paradise with the sncient indian ragas oozing peace, tranquility, humility for all.mortals
This is Music. One and one only, just passing through the human instrumentalities, like the light decomposed by the prism is shown in 7 colors, but it is always that White, so it is of indian traditional music, this is real Music. And of all the colors, Ravi Shankar is my favourite, he can make me cry just at touch of one note. This raga is simply absolute bliss and shanti, inner peace and fullness
As someone who studied Hindustani music for 50 years it is interesting to not how Pt. Ravi Shankar's style is rare nowadays. Just watch the masters of the past 30 or so years. The style of playing, holding the sitar, etc. are very different. Of course when I began my studies, Shankar's style was the most common. This was mostly due to the popularity of various gharanas. But Pt. Shankar will live in immortality due to the many recordings and videos.
Beauty of this masterpiece is ....yaman ...inner peace is guaranteed ....but now .....no time limit ....just cut offed ...suits in morning.. evening ..night ....how he could make it ....beauty ....just want to touch his feet ...several times ...listening ...listening ...
