A quick eBay search online for arcade style devices will likely result in you finding some type of Pandora device. This video aims to tell you about the positives and negatives of purchasing and most importantly... Who is it Good for?
Great review man! I just ordered mine. I went with this option because I felt like it was cheaper and better than buying an arcade 1 up with 1 -3 games on it for $400
You can turn graphic optimisation off in the settings, which does change the game list a little but takes away that weird colour wash.. Also actually makes some games run smoothly when they don’t with the setting on.. Enjoy that arcade fun everyone!
Thanks for the video, though the clicking joystick doesn't mean it's cheap - it just means it uses microswitches, which even most highly regarded sticks do!
For Hardcore arcade gamer like me i would give it 5/10, I need a original game configuration and I dont have one and I do hope I can get to change the game buttons option everytime I am in a game but I cant, I only can change the overrall games buttons....so for hardcore gamers, my advise also buy a joystick and play on emulators on your PC
I agree this isn't ideal for hardcore gamers. Odds are a hardcore gamer will have access to most (if not all) of what this provides and likely want more control. From a hardcore gamer perspective if you are looking for something portable and cheap a retropie would likely be more enjoyable.
@@whoisitgoodfor Indeed......this is just something not suitable for me as a hardcore arcade player , a bit regret on buying it. Well if for family usage then it is good one......
Thank you! After having it for several months of light use (I get a good few-hour session every few weeks) it continues to be in good shape. It is definitely not something that can be thrown around but is built really well
@@whoisitgoodfor awesome as thanks for the reply appreciate it... I might get one for my kids and my self lol... just doing some research and seeing what is the best one for us.. I might go the 18s with wi fi 👍
My TV is 50 inches. What may help is turning off the Smoothing filter. It makes it look closer to what its supposed to look like. Also depending on the pandora you got some games will just look ugly. Mine does not run 3D games well though it has a few
Why does everyone sell these huge arcade cabs and put in a pandora box? It's beyond me but maybe to keep cost low but if your going to build an arcade cab do yourself a favour and use a PC with Retrobat.
@@whoisitgoodfor So Retrobat is an amazing piece of free software. Look it up on RU-vid. Its basically emulation station but all emulators pre configured, all you need to do is add roms. So good.
im sure you are right but my excuse is that i dont know how or i dont know about that. and wood is expensive. building a cabinet would still cost money😢
I wouldn't get this one. Most of the games that I wanted to play were either no playable or just badly emulated. If you want something better go with the 18s. In that one they fixed the problems that this one had and it's faster.
While virtually all games ive tried so far are playable there are definitely some games that weren’t playing right (nba jam is the best example). Do you think its worth purchasing another or should i just raspberry pi it?
@@whoisitgoodfor the Pandora Box 18s is much better I have it. Still not perfect, but way better. NBA Jam has been fixed along with Mortal Kombat, Turtles Time, Vapor Trail, Elevator Action Returns and X-Men Arcade. That one in particular didn't quite ran well but in the 18s it was fixed. Darius Garden still has issues but it's better.
@@Theshark15z jus got the 11s on ebay (most likely unofficial) but for the price I couldn't pass. But I'm considering the 18s. Which version do yiu recommend? Like how many games does the official one come with?
@@gm9984 if you want more games go with 20s that gives 8000 games however retro arch is much better and gives 10 times as that with better quality and better options.
Sorry for the late reply! It does NOT have road rash games, I answer your questions and more in this new video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nvZKrIUGVek.html
Do you know which version you got? On my version some games do not work properly, but most of them have duplicates that do work. I haven't tried Donkey Kong, I gotta check it out next time I plug it in
Thank you! I try to be lol. I am actually from the northeast. I'm pretty good at hiding it, until I get into an arguement or say certain words like coffee
The game list of the Pandora varies from where you buy it. That being said there are quite a few games that overlap among versions. This is not the exact play list from the version I have but this will give you an idea of what to expect - www.tomorrowsgarden.net/content/full-list-games-pandoras-box-6s-retro-arcade-tander
If you mean I stopped posting content than I'm happy to let you know I have a new video! If you mean your Pandora stopped working I'm sorry that happened! Mine is still sticking, but I don't use it regularly to be fair.
