When your having to make a decision between a TT or watch and wait, bearing in mind that TT brings with it many problems/complications it’s very difficult. My Thyroid cancer was a T3N0M0, it was well differentiated FTC which was minimally invasive. I’m 59 but am extremely fit & healthy. I’ve had the diseased half of my thyroid removed, but I’m hanging onto the other half of my thyroid as long as I can, because further surgery has huge consequences, but there is a possibility further disease could occur, if this happens I have to live with potentially having made the wrong decision. This has to be one of the most difficult decisions of my life. 🤷♀️ but who in their right mind would choose to be a fat depressed sloth because it’s difficult to titrate the right dose of Levothyroxine etc post operatively.
Wonderful Panel discussing a fascinating and important subject ( for me ) . The beauty of a RU-vid Video on this difficult subject , is that one can go back again and listen to bits one feels one has missed . And to re-listen to the important bits again and again to let them sink in . What to do , how to reach a decision , how to weigh the evidence with the different modalities of diagnosis is a problem even for the top people in the field let alone for us 'occasional' surgeons, Ultrasonographists and Pathologists .
It's really a great agenda of all the medical problems that shld be discuss further by expertice to address us all patience the knowledge of what the real problems n total procedure cause it's really alarming if we don't know what to do thank you for all the concern doctors n expertice to have shared their opinions n knowledge hoping to have many people like them GOD bless
I pray to be forgiven for pointing out Just one surgeon on the panel discussing thyroid cancer. Doesn’t it weigh somewhat on some kind of bias of the organization as of the ATA ?
