The rift between the Marcos and Duterte families has spawned another issue: Mindanao independence.
In this special panel discussion, Rappler thought leaders discuss Mindanao independence, the Uniteam political alliance, and the push for charter change under the Marcos Jr. administration.
Moderated by Rappler reporter Dwight de Leon, the panel discussion features Alvarez, political analyst Ronald Llamas, and former presidential peace adviser Ging Deles. Rappler Senate reporter Bonz Magsambol and House reporter Kaycee Valmonte also join in.

Independency of Mindanao is not means be govern by DUTERTE's dynasty. It's better Philippines government can proceed the imposition of federalism means every state can run and drive of their own development and progress of every states

Ako,isa sa mga tutol na ihiwalay ang Mindanao sa bansang Pilipinas. Paano mabuo ang uniteam kung ihiwalay ang Mindanao sa bansang Pilipinas. Marami akong kamag-anak na nakatira diyan sa Mindanao. Maliit lang ang bansang Pilipinas magkahiwahiwalay pa, ano kaya ang mangyari sa bansang Pilipinas? Bakit hindi natin sundin ang bansang America at bansang U.K.? Malaki na ang bansang America at U.K. Pero bakit humahanap pa sila ng ibang bansa para mangin kasapi nila. Sana madagdag pa sa Pilipinas ang Sabah para lumaki ng kaunti ang bansang Pilipinas.

I think foreign investors also need stable business law, regulations , policies which requires stable governance. IMO longer term for leaders or chance for re election will also favor the economy. It goes hand in hand.

Kailangan palitan para umusad ang Pilipinas at umunlad. Pangulong Duterte pa ang nagsabi na kailangan palitan ang konstitusyon. Sadsad na sa kahirapan ang Pilipinas dahil sa 1987 Konstitusyon. Federalism ang kailangan ng Pilipinas dahil archepelagic country tayo at hayaan ang bawat regions na magpatakbo ng kani-kanilang lugar kung papano nila ito mapapa-unlad, di tulad ngayon na national ang government ang nag-dedecide kaya may na iiwan regions sa kaunlaran.

Digong demonstrated significant disrespect towards the administration, a responsibility his daughter shares in governing the country. PBBM is characterized by kindness, respectfulness, and diligence. In contrast, Duterte lacks these qualities, leading to a decline in his popularity and rendering him one of the most disliked figures in the nation.

It's not even about getting approval from Manila that will be the hardest obstacle for "Mindanaoans" in case of secession; it will be your revenue generation capabilities. Total contribution of Davao to overall revenue to the Philippines overall is 1.12% & Northern Mindanao 0.79% vs NCR 84.24%, as per DBM stats. This only means that NCR revenues trickle down to other regions who are not generating enough revenues to cover expenses.
