Pangburn Philosophy Highlights - James Randi's update on Uri Geller 

James Randi once said that when he dies he wants to be cremated and have his ashes blown in Uri Geller's eyes.

When Geller left his home in Sonning he installed, without local authority approval, a hideous and poorly made "sculpture" of a bent spoon with his name punched through it, on the riverbank, some way from his properrty, but right opposite George Clooney's house. The locals were furious. Geller said he'd done it because the locals would want something to remember him by. Most of them thought that a donation to their fund to build a new classroom for the village primary school would have been more appropriate. I'm told that he had been invited to open a find raising event but asked for an extortionate fee. I saw his crappy "sculpture" before it was removed. Some wit had hung a dog poo bag on it and chalked on it, "just another load of shit left on the riverbank." :D
