I don't think I've ever seen a streamer I actually could stand watching hold upwards of two and a half hour shareholder meetings to discuss how the streamer can get their money donated. Honestly, he should just bring back TTS and auto-pop up for donations if he really wants the LARPer or dent dollar, but he's obviously too afraid to have random people on the Internet tell him just how great (sic) he is.

It's because he sucks at it. From my perspective it seems something like sf6 would be very difficult to play (not my type of game) as it's very fast paced, yet he plays it pretty well, but for some reason he can't wrap his head around smash which is slower(probably because he can't gimp people as easily)

10 years of streaming and he has no experience or high level understanding of the technical side of streaming. Usually if you're working in a specific industry for that long you'd pick up a thing or two or be able to atleast call yourself a power user. Unless you're someone like DSP who does the smallest amount of effort and extracts it for the most profit possible
His incompetence pisses me off. I only play SF6 on Xbox, if he had his settings right, he wouldn’t have the stutters on Xbox. He is a professional gamer, but he refuses to learn how to make his content better. And Smash just had a huge tournament last week, but he swears that people don’t care about it.
The recent toxicity from DSP these past few days is the Scorn rant turned up to 11. It’s been a while since we’ve seen him this angry and worked up. He still fails to realize that these explosive rants are a big part of why people don’t like him. It’s only going to get worse too as the AAA industry continues to crumble and there are less of those huge, super hype blockbusters he relies on. Also, DSP complaining about the lack of great games in 2024 just further proves this guy’s taste in games is as limited as a toddler that only eats chicken nuggets. May was packed full of cool indie games covering a wide variety of genres, and next week we have Steam Next Fest to look forward to. PC gamers have been eating great this year.

Shadow of the Erdtree is the thing that's going to save the business. For real this time guys *snort*. Watching piggy squirm and lash out at his audience gives me an indescribable sense of satisfaction. Also he complains about too many of the same types of game ("longform RPGs") while having no issue playing two fighting games at the same time (Multiversus and SF6).
For all the years Phil has been doing this, you would think that he understood at some point that "variety" is not actually a good thing for a channel. Like I am not saying you shouldn't do what you think is fun and if that is "variety" then so be it. But I think every person who had a YT channel for a bit over a year can tell you that the main way to draw an audience is to find your niche and deliver in that niche. If you have an audience that came for fighting games, it will always be hard to get a big percentage to watch your strategy game playthroughs. It's as simple as that. Yes, there will always be a core audience that would watch everything you do and IF you are big enough, you can bank on them being enough to keep the channel relevant. But if you are smaller, and DSP is smaller, then the goal should be to focus your audience and don't switch games every so often because this just thins out the crowd that came to you for a very specific purpose. Again, if you don't intend to make it big and just do videos for fun, don't listen to this advice. Do what you think is fun. But if this is your job, you would think you would understand it a bit better and not think that variety is a good think just because a lot of people (shout out) say so.

Theres lots of games you "need" a team for but you can totally play alone , war thunder is another one that comes to mind. It's playable solo but you are almost gonna do 100% better with a team , ghost recon breakpoint is another , you can play solo but it's much better with friends , not required but much more fun , ive played a couple games with 0 matchmaking that require a full team I know I have but I can't think of any

That's how youtube has always worked. If someone isn't playing or doing something you want on their channel, there are millions of other channels that are. But obviously those people are just dirty, twisted, child trolls.

There's a New England accent that isn't the Boston, Maine, or New York accent where they just cannot pronounce t's at all and dsp has the accent so bad it's ridiculous. I used to think he had a speech impediment until I heard other people with the same accent. He overly annunciates the t's in some words like "toxicity" because he's self conscious about the accent but not smart enough to keep it up for every word.
His stream of Crow County was the most obnoxious thing ever. The pigroach was acting like it was his first time holding a controller. "The right stick controls the camera?? Wow!"
Hades 2 was out in early access for about a month before Phil played it. It's still popular, but he's making it seem he played it on launch day, and he didn't. Not even close.
I’m going to be as fair as I can be to THE GUY and I ask this genuinely. Is there *any* successful streamer out there who spends anywhere close to as much time talking about their schedule and the games they should or shouldn’t play and their streaming setup as much as DSP? I cannot imagine spending multiple hours genuinely watching someone complain like this in the expectation of being entertained.

It's the fact that when he's playing a game, you have to talk about that game or something related to that, and if you don't, then he calls you out or just outright bans them an the fact that the chat has to basically play the game for him who wants to see that.
Wasn’t he complaining about this EXACT thing last year too? That’s why he finally broke down and played BG3? And to his whole point that his fans asked for react content and they hated it, that is 10000% his fault. His fans like him, for some reason, ask him to do something and in typical DSP fashion he’s either bad at it or not entertaining and his fan base gets bored.
The fact he can outright say it's the game's fault and not his is disgusting. Phil needs to realize he's not entitled to everyone's views. It doesn't matter how hyped up a game is, if he's not interesting, or if he fails to capitalize on what his viewers desire after ten years, then no one will care about you.
It's like if you had a sandwich shop, and people for years told you they want to buy sandwiches with mozzarella cheese instead of cheap American plastic-wrapped garbage, and after a decade you finally decide to introduce mozzarella, all those people have long gone to other sandwich shops where they do sell authentic cheese sandwiches.

How funny it is that DSP says the problem with gaming is that they only focus on money, when DSP only measures the success of his streams by how much money he makes.
How can he not realize that he is the problem, that he just doesn't have the personality to hold an audience, hes not a show man if you will. Even i recently quit uploading on my channel because i can to the conclusion that i just didn't have the IT factor to pull in an audience. And trying to "fake it till i make it" just wasnt gonna work because my heart wasnt in it anymore. And i did not want to subject my audience to that, as small as it was.
Palworld should have been his wake-up call that maybe he is the problem. His streams were a flop at the same time that the game was still getting over 1 million concurrent players on Steam and there were hundreds of thousands of viewers watching the game on Twitch.
I find it just crazy how he sits here and claims to have been on the platform for 16 years and knows what he's doing, but at the same time is constantly asking his audience what he should be doing. Guy has no clue, it's all to dance around him admitting to himself that he is the problem.
There are so many good games this year. Its been one of the best years in gaming we've had in a while. Dragons Dogma 2, Palworld, Helldivers 2, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, P3 reloaded, Paper Mario TTYD remaster, The Yakuza games, Crab Souls, Stellar Blade and even more are coming. All of these have the potential to be great streams as long as the streamer is entertaining which DSP is not
