Note: Due to the blurry images of the livestream I was watching this performance on, this video isn't as sharp as you would expect. I am sorry for that.
I was a panic! fan for years and I went to his concerts a couple times, but since the allegations I can't look at him the same as before. His mistakes in the past are unforgiveble.
@@KaylaH93 First of all, I would like to say that my comments are not meant to be hate comments. I came to watch this video and read the comments out of curiousity. I was wondering how fans are reacting on this if there were more people having the same thought as I. It is true that de allegations are not proven. But I think it's weird that Brendon never said anything about it (correct me if I am wrong). Before the allegations Brendon was often live on twitch and was very interactive with his fans. Panic! was a huge part of my life and I followed everything. After the allegations he just disappeard for three years and than all of a sudden he has new songs. It felt like he had abandoned us. I just don't think the allegations are fake. He said things on stage and on twitter which before I thought it was funny but now looking back I think its racist and sexist. Am I missing a video or a post where he explained, apologizes and saying that he made mistakes or something like that?
@@mariekjesdagboek48 His silence had nothing to do with the allegations. He said he was taking a long, much needed break early 2020. Later 2020, in like November after the controversy, he did stream again and said that none of the shit said against him was true, and Zack, who did have shit against him, would no longer be working on tour with them, no elaboration needed. And if you look into the accusations they are pretty obviously fake, there's a Tumblr blog that has them all further debunked if you need more proof that I can't link cuz RU-vid, but anything "inappropriate" he said on stage was just banter, you can see how the crowds back then ate it up and had no problem with it, that was the culture back then, the fans knew he was just messing around and didn't mean anything serious, which is something people don't seem to understand nowadays.
This is his first time not only performing after three years with no concerts, but performing hard songs like Viva las Vengeance. He was probably nervous af, but even though he started with vocal problems his confidence was increasing throughout the whole show! People, THIS is an artist! We're so used to singers sounding exactly like the record, but in reality THIS is what a live performance is like. There are some artists that can sound as the studio version on live, but most of the artists are like Brendon. For those of you who wanna become singers, live performances are freaking scary and your voice can crack. Learn from Brendon. He's a professional singer, and even when he lose the control of his voice, he still acts confident. Because those things are normal, and they're part of the awesome experience of performing live! 🥰
The excuse is weak as fuck honestly. If the songs are too hard, then maybe idk, don’t write the music in an uncomfortable range. It’s his own music, he can write it however he wants to!
@@ErikLeeTroche yes, and that's why he generally changes the tone of his songs when he's singing live (as you can see with High Hopes). The thing is, he'd never performed that song live before. Probably when rehearsing he saw that the performance was good, his voice was fine, but as a singer once you get on stage, in front of all those people, after not singing live for so long, things change. Many factors influence your voice, from the weather to your emotions (both positive and negative) among other stuff, because vocal chords aren't autotune, but muscles. This was a test for him. He'll probably change the tone of Viva Las Vengance for the tour :)
@@mfpperera no, that’s not how singing works at all. I’ve got minor training and performed with many singers and musicians and they all will tell you what you just said is simply a false narrative. The fact that he hasn’t sung and performed in front of people is even more of a reason he shouldn’t have sounded bad. Singing, like many things, requires practice and to me it’s clear he doesn’t practice safely. High Hopes is in a comfortable range for him. It’s not belting and seems like a pretty easy song for tenors. This new album has many high screams and belts and if done in an unsafe manor, it will damage your voice. It doesn’t matter how old he is (35 is far too young to be losing his voice like), the best can sing for as long as possible if done healthy. It doesn’t matter whether he didn’t perform these songs live, he wrote them to sound a specific way and to tour for a live audience. He purposely made the songs hard to sing for himself, and that baffles me.
@@ErikLeeTroche I'm a singer myself and I can tell you that it's not a false narrative at all. You're not wrong, tho. The whole album will be difficult to sing live if he doesn't change the tones of many of them. Also, I've read that it's almost sure that he doesn't have a singing coach. I hope this experience teaches him another lesson: Brendon, get a singing coach so you can learn to sing in a healthy way 😅
I really hope that performing live again and seeing everyone happy to see him and showing their appreciation, makes him forget abt all the crappy fake allegations, and also makes him realize how almost no one heard abt them, at least outside the us that is.
@@prachurgupta9719 oh absolutely, there was the joke on the concert, which let's be honest he did it cuz he knew the fans wanted it and I've also seen someone say he said it to mess with the crazy fans. There was also the mouth synch of the n word, it was in a song, don't see how it was that bad, it's like swearing cuz it's in a song, it's there u said it but it has no actual value. Only in this case he didn't even say it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@bibiv_ Brendon said some problematic stuff in the past that was brought 2 years ago, (stuff that he has apologized for and that he also has never repeat again since then), also there where some allegations from random people in twitter which said that brendon “did stuff to them”, but later these where proven false and the same accounts that made the allegations admitted that they where lying
Definitely not his best live performance but for not performing in 3 years, he absolutely smashed it! Plus performing any song live for the first time is never perfect. He was pitchy in several places but all things considered, he did amazing!:)
I mean he was extremely nervous during Viva here. Apparently in rehearsals, he wasn't nearly as shaky with his voice as in the live performance we got on NBC.
Panic! Was the last show I went to before I got sick, in and out of the hospital, wound up in hospice, now on home hospice, dealing with the world.... but Panic! Will be the last show I see for sure. I have tickets. I'm making it to that show I don't care. I tanked myself into debt to get an oxygen concentrator to use so I could go. I will see him again. And then I can die walking out of that arena with a massive smile on my face. And let go and let my hopes go so High... to the heavens. (I hope) 💜
@@xxMVGFan8xx I'm so sorry I didn't realize it wasn't just a like.. random big corporation account or Today or something that posted this. I didn't mean to rain on your video and be depressing like that. But thank you for your kind words. And thank you for the video it was great and just motivates me more to make it.
Omgg Beebo is doomed to sing I Write Sins Not Tragedies and High Hopes at every performance he gives for the rest of his life. he must be fed up. I Lov him.
Crazy to believe PATD is still this huge. Especially being a fan since I saw IWSNT on Tv before school one day in late 2005. Just insane. I’ve been a fan for so long.
I’ve slept on them for like 15 years because I thought they were just some emo band. I was a dumbass. 😂. I’ve been catching up the last month or so. Brendon’s voice is goddamn amazing
As someone who has been practicing the song for a while with a vocal teacher I would say the most difficult parts are the note turn thing he does in the beginning of the word Vengeance & yeah 100% the ending. You know its coming but you have to make it seem like its not as well as get enough air in + support. But Brendon generally has a huge range so many songs are quite difficult unless you manage to be in the vocal range of one.
@@filippoborri1 And also the new album sounds annoying. He can't stop singing in his high register, and most of the time it sounds like he's yelling like a child. There's a song that sounds exactly like another song on the album (Local God). Also people need to stop being secondhand Queen, Muse did the same thing on their newest album.
I just watched the interview he had with Mikey on Sirius XM and after watching that, this performance hits so much harder. I’m getting so emotional. Thank you so much for posting this :,)
Hearing him sing brings back so many memories. I met my partner the day after I saw panic! In 2019, and now we will be going to see panic in 2023 together
Brendan is such an amazing vocalist. To come on stage after 3 years and start with a Vocaly challenging song he did so well Definitely cleared of all nerves by High Hopes
So proud of him for keeping at it and continuing to do what he loves despite the fact that pretty much the entire internet hates him. Looking forward to seeing Brendon and the band live here in just a couple months
The dude at 11.33 😂😂 Brendon’s got the best fans in the world 😍 I wish I could have been there today to support him on his first live appearance in 3 years!! Omg!
Thank you for recording this!! I’ve been so busy with college starting back that I never got the chance to record it on my TV. This is just what I need to get me thru this semester 🙌🏻
I am so so SO excited for him to get some of these new album live performances under his belt. Imagine not performing live for 3 years and whipping out the tremendous vocals you hear on the VLV this early in the morning. Of a NEW ALBUM. Couldnt imagine the nerves. I can't wait for tour. Dare I say I have high hopes 😏
Poor guy so nervous but KUDOS to him after all the hate. I cannot wait to see Panic! I have tix to the first three shows on the tour and will be going to Vegas too! I support them 100%!!!
I didn’t listen to Panic for like last 15 years because I thought they were just some emo band from my teenage years. I’ve been missing out!! I stumbled on Brendon covering Bohemian Rhapsody about a month ago, and I’ve been down a rabbit hole ever since. I’ve legitimately listened to nothing but Panic at the Disco for the last month. I think I’m finally caught up. I had no idea how versatile Brendon was as a singer. He sounds good in every genre and that RANGE! Good God. I think he’s probably the greatest vocalist alive right now. I’m so sad that I missed this tour! I’m definitely going to the next one
When VLV came out I was livid for the album. When middle of a breakup came out I was like … oh.. yeah no. But now the albums slowly growing on me, say it louder is my favourite
@@xxMVGFan8xx Köln ist einfach am Erreichbarsten, ansonsten hab ich keine Ahnung, da es wie gesagt mein erstes Konzert überhaupt ist 😁 Februar 2023 ist es endlich soweit!
Not hating, but does anyone realize that this is the only live performance for Viva Las Vengeance that doesn’t have a backing track? I love Brendon’s voice nonetheless, it’s just something I’ve noticed
@@connormcswiney8474 Yes he said in an interview that he was very nervous! Hope he will lower the songs a little on tour, think it's more enjoyable for him and for us :)
Our lil beebo is getting older guys… higher notes will indeed be a lot harder now and that’s okay just let him do his thing he’s still an amazing vocalist regardless. He had accomplished so much with his higher range in these years then most men do in their entire life.
as someone who doesn’t like him but used to, if he wants to continue singing he needs to stop writing songs with such high notes because he is Ruining his voice by straining so hard (this album is one of the Highest and he struggles in the recordings). He has technique but goes for what is more impressive than healthy
VLV is a really difficult song to sing, it goes up a lot and with almost no pauses, I understand that it is the first time live, maybe with time it will adapt. Either way, he never stopped putting on a show, my respects for that.
