"But who could love me? I am out of my mind; Throwing a line out to sea To see if I can catch a dream" I feel you dude, I feel you. But uh, well, I'd love you 'cause with-or-without-lies-you-are-perfect!!!!!
@@JosephFur great choices, I also love “she had the world” along with “that green gentleman”, “from a mountain in the middle of the cabins” and “behind the sea”
This song hurts me because this is probably how my past S/O felt when I was just passing the time not caring about the relationship, I’ve learned my past mistakes and I apologize for breaking their heart. He used to always say to me that he always saw the dark sky in my eyes, me and him are still friends and we talk to each other daily but I just know it pains him to know that I don’t feel the same way about him and for that I truly am sorry
It’s great to hear that you know what you did and you take accountability. It may not seem like a big deal but it really is. I hope you both find what you are looking for
She held the world upon a string But she didn't ever hold me Spun the stars on her fingernails But it never made her happy 'Cause she couldn't ever have me She said she'd won the world at a carnival But she could never win me 'Cause she couldn't ever catch me I, I know why Because when I look in her eyes I just see the sky When I look in her eyes Well I, just see the sky I don't love you I'm just passing the time You could love me if I knew how to lie But who could love me? I am out of my mind Throwing a line out to sea To see if I can catch a dream The sun was always in her eyes She didn't even see me But that girl had so much love She'd wanna kiss you all the time Yeah, she'd wanna kiss you all the time She said she won the world at a carnival But I'm sure I didn't ruin her Just made her more interesting I'm sure I didn't ruin her Just made her more interesting I, I know why Because when I look in her eyes I just see the sky When I look in her eyes Well I, I just see the sky I don't love you I'm just passing the time You could love me if I knew how to lie But who could love me? I am out of my mind Throwing a line out to sea To see if I can catch a dream
I don't know what happened...as soon as the song started my heart just got so heavy and i cried during the hole song...especially at Ryan's part Omg i love them so much😭
Does any one else think it's about Ryden??? Like it says "When I look in her eyes I just see the sky", like he only loves Ryan, and the sky is their relationship, because the whole sun and moon theory. And when Brendon starts saying "the sun was always in her face she could never see me, but that girl had so much love she'd wanna kiss you all the time" like they both had girlfriends to cover up their relationship (that's why Ryan said "I don't love you in just passing the time") but it bothered Brendon that the girl was always with Ryan. And it says "you could love me if I knew how to lie" like he can't hide his feelings for Brendon.
I know it's been months since you comented, but I just had to say that I think you're right. In fact I don't get how all those Ryden obsessed fans, that are constantly bending over backwards to find the slightest sun or moon reference, haven't really picked up on this song. Sure, Northern Downpour, and WTDMTN have hints, but this one is quite literal O.O My interpretation is even simpler that yours: there's no "she", when they say "she" they mean "he", they just couldn't say it like that because one or both of them were not ready to come out (mostly Ryan I think). But they're just literally singing to each other... -"But it never made her happy, cause she couldn't ever have me" - what they really wanted was to be together, but couldn't -"But she could never win me, cause she could never catch me" - one of them (Ryan) wasn't as comfortable with his sexuality as the other (Brendon) -"When I look in her eyes I just see the sky" - classic lovey dovey shit, not much to say -"You could love me if I knew how to lie" - they could be together if they were able to hide it, but they didn't think they would be able to do it -"But I'm sure I didn't ruin her, just made her more interesting" - There's a msn conversation where Ryan's ex tells Brendon's ex that "Brendon made Ryan gay" , here Brendon says he didn't ruin Ryan by making him confront his feelings, just made him more interesting (a person with a better knowlegde of who they are is certainly more interesting) I could keep going and analyse every line, because the song is THAT explicit... And of course, there's probably some stuff in there that only made sense to them, they're real people with private lifes, not musical theather charachters... Well, this got suuuuper long xD Maybe I should do a reddit post or somenthing, but I don't wanna encourage crazy shippers that still think they belong together and not with their current partners -.-' Yes, I believe Ryden was real, that at some point they got involved (and also that it ultimately led to problems in the band). But it's been 10 years guys! They've moved on, Brendon is married, just let them be happy. Bradon coming out as pansexual last year and admiting he has had experiences with guys only adds to the eviddence that Ryden was, at some point, real. But Brendon would never out Ryan without his consent, so unless Ryan Ross ends up coming out sometime in the future, I'm pretty sure he and Beebo will take this secret to the grave.
Right now I'm at my kitchen table crying my eyes out because I killed my own relationship by confronting my former S/O about how they felt so I have realized this is probably how they felt about me especially Ryan's part and me being the parts of when I look in her eyes I see the sky and you could love me if u learned how to lie
I don't know this song much but "I don't love you I'm just passing the time" all my friends think highly of me but I don't think they love me. I don't think I love them. I only hang with them so that I'm not lonely. my real friends live across the world so I can't talk to them much. no one knows I have an online friend
but it's better if you do, northern downpour, the piano knows something i dont know, london beckoned songs, the whole afycso album, all of their songs are really good :)
imo, the more “pop” side of their albums would be ‘Death of a Bachelor’ album, for more indie songs like this ‘Pretty. Odd’ is good, for just BLOODY GOOD SONGS is my favourite album ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’. The lesser known album would be ‘vices & virtues’ they have good songs but not my favourite. Then ‘Too Weird to live Too Rare to die’ has amazing songs in it, absolutely love that album. Quite ‘pop’ as well. overall good songs imo is ‘Girls/Girls/Boys’ ‘Collar Full’ ‘Camisado’ ‘Vegas Lights’ ‘She had the world’ ‘There’s a good reason these tables are numbered honey, you just haven’t thought of it yet’
