He could have just said he wasn't going to receive the reward out of respect for her and suggested an unsung wounded soldier and participant of the Games get it in his place. I was appalled when Harry demanded the 3 wounded veterans on stage (former recipients of the Pat Tillman Award), who were walking off stage: "don't you go anywhere. Come back!" The 2 female vets are single amputees, the male vet was severely disfigured. All of them during military combat. They physically had difficulty walking back AND were uncomfortable being there. All of this so that Harry wouldn't get booed. (Nobody boos the veterans.) How cowardly and disgraceful! Giving this award to Harry is an affront to Pat Tillman, Mrs. Tillman, and veterans around the world.

As an Arizonan and American, we take Pat Tillmans incredible integrity, honor, duty and respect quite seriously and are fiercely protective of our heroes. Harry didn’t steal the idea. The Royal Foundation and others thought it was a good model to base a similar event on for veterans in Commonwealth countries, so they took on the idea. Harry was given the patronage.
I am aggravated beyond all measure that the media continued to spout that the Invictus games were founded by Harry. How hard is it to say the Invictus games were founded by the Royal Foundation along with whoever else was involved , and Harry became the patron.
