Welcome back everyone. For anyone like myself who likes to work on their own bikes, here's a little how to video for anyone who's working on their V2 trying to do an oil change. I take pride in working on my own bikes so hopefully there are some of you out there that do as well too and find this useful!
Thanks for watching and message me if you have any questions!

if skipping the body plastic demounting process it's the same for streetfighter v2

You probably saved yourself $200 Beans for doing your own oil. Thats the way it should be, frankly you can train a Chimp to change oil, and there's no need to have a Dealer do it. Just save receipts, and you're golden.

Can't believe you didn't use a torque wrench on the filter cover 😱 those bolts are 8nm they snap before you feel it ! And your oil looks new coming out! On the bright side, nice video and the bike looks great!

300V is a race/track day oil and as such should be replaced regularly. Don’t leave it in for the 12K service interval as it won’t do your engine any favours. Motul 7100 is my choice 😁 and still changed every 6K

no mention of the o-rings on the filter cover or the crush washer on the drain plug???

I suggest using the Stahlbus oil drain valve and brake bleeders. No more crush washer changes and no mess. Makes oil changes and brake bleeding 100 times easier.

I'm listening, please do tell more, because this job took a minute and was very messy.

Good video and pointers; do you recommend (if it’s necessary) to pre fill oil filter before installing. Thanks

I do not no. I fill the bike with 3 quartz and run it for a bit. Then let it settle for at least an hour on a rear stand and then fill it to the middle mark on the viewing window!

Why do you need to take off both bottom fairings? Should be only the oil filter side that needs taking off.

How do you reset the service/oil light? that's my main concern on new ducatis
@desmoholic.racing
@desmoholic.racing Год назад
That’s gonna be a dealer job. I’m pretty sure you either need the 400 dollar Ducati tool and it the DDS software

You need to take it a dealer for that. The good news is that if your dealer is cool, which they usually are, they'll reset it for free, they'll want to see proof that you did the oil change yourself and used the proper parts so email them receipts and tell them when you did it so they can update the service history for it. Doing the service on it yourself does not void the warranty I sure do wish I could reset the light myself. I think KTM is the only european brand that lets you reset the service warning yourself. I looked into BMW, Aprilia, and Triumph, they all make you take it to the dealer to reset it.

What’s the size of the bolts to pull out the oil filter cover ????
@njarvis1977

Use the bolts off your passenger pegs 👌🏻

The bolt holding the filter cover is a 6mm thread dia, and the bolt to remove it is a std 8mm, ( 8mmx1.25mm thread pitch).

@@lesfoster4364I wish Ducati designed this better. It's just an extra step. Why not design it so you can remove the oil filter and throw it, just like most other motorcycles..
