The concept of how to take a proper panorama picture was well explained in detail. Thanks!

I found the easiest (and fastest) way to establish the camera location behind the tripod pivot point is to align the camera with the two markers (your light stands and bats) in the centre of the live view image, then swing the camera until the markers are to one side of the live view image where they will probably be misalinged and then simply move the camera rearward on the rail with respect to the tripod pivot point until the markers align again. Lock down and then double check the markers remain aligned with the camera swung in the opposite direction and that should be job done.

Great video. I watched some videos on panoramas but your series is the most didactic one and all the concepts are well explained. Thanks for sharing!

I try very hard to to let my shaking hands control my life. I use to struggle with self doubt when I first noticed how bad my hands shake, now it just doesn't bother me. Life goes on and I try to do the best that I can

Hi, Thanks for the video. Can you please tell me what pano head you are using and the bracket you mention? I clicked on a link from another person question but I can seem to view that tiny link. Cheers

Great video, thanks. I do have a question though. Do you really need the ball head between the rotator and the tripod, if the tripod is level?

No! You don't. That's just how made this video

Charles, it would be helpful if you put the links to the other parts here. Also, did you talk about how to set up the panorama rotator? Could you also give us the links to the gear you use in this tutorial - the nodal rail, the rotator, the pano tripod head?

Excellent series on panoramic images. Just one question : You use aperture priority. So there is a risk that the images have different shutter-times. Would it not be better to use manual mode ?
@CharlesNPhotography
@CharlesNPhotography 2 года назад
Yes, for the first example I did use Aperture Priority, but I did state that the reason I used AP was that the light was stable. but do go on to state further in the video that at other times of the day I will always shoot in Manual mode.

Towards the end of the video, you mentioned titling the camera and not the tripod head. At 28:35 did you tilt the nodal slide? I am about to buy a nodal slide, but it doesn’t look like you can tilt the slide.
@CharlesNPhotography
@CharlesNPhotography Год назад
No, I only tilt the camera, not the nodal slider. You will have problems if you tilt anything more than the camera

How does parallax error affect Micro 4/3s cameras? Are the nodal points from the sensor closer or further along?

Charles, how do you tilt the camera on the ballhead without tilting the ballhead itself? I have an L-bracket (not universal) attached to my camera which keeps the camera securely on the ballhead and does not allow any movement. The only way I can see to tilt the camera upwards or downwards is by tilting the ballhead. Any tips?
@CharlesNPhotography
@CharlesNPhotography 3 года назад
This is why I bought a universal L Backet which allows me to tilt the camera without tilting the ball head. these are only about $10 on eBay.
