I watch them with sound and view them at the same time. I watch during my “relaxing time”. I’m glad you got some rain. 🌧 I can’t believe you are going to rewrite your patterns. Your patterns are nice. I like them because anyone could follow along. Thank you for all you do. 🌷

I love to watch and listen to your tutorials depending on how complicated or advanced the stitch is. I so appreciate when you use the needle to denote which stitch you are crocheting into. Sometimes that can be hard to determine when I’m using a darker yarn color, so having that little bit of assurance helps so much! Your voice is very encouraging and you are detailed and say things the same way as you stitch so I find myself saying them in my head as I crochet. When making your plant stem today “ 1, 2, increase, 1, 2, increase…” etc. with each round. I try to crochet along with you and pause the video when I need extra time. Thank you for all of your hard work! Your videos are so professional looking and I love the music you use in each section intro too.

When I watch and follow tutorials sometimes I crochet along with you and pause each step when needed. Because your written patterns are so easy to follow I can refer to them along with the tutorial. For me personally I enjoy tutorials that have a mix. With ADHD it helps me out a tone if captions are added or the row that is being worked on is visible ex; row 3 ch 2 DC 4 HDC 2 ch 1 turn. This also helped a lot seeing it how its done and explained but also really helped me learn how to read only written patterns. The speed you do is perfect how you explain steps are perfect. Having the row visible on the screen is nice for when you have to pause ! Thank you for what you do!

Hi C, love the Pansy BOM! I just may make an entire afghan just from that block. Luvvv it! How I watch a tutorial depends on whether or not I plan to make the finished project. If I plan to (or am) making it then after watching it through once, I stitch along, pausing when needed so that I can keep up with you. For example I made cakes and candles shawl that way, Party-cardi, and the rectangle granny square. Which, of course is an oxymoron because it’s the granny rectangle not a granny square, but I digress…..love your videos. These are a FEW examples. Also I have been known to write out the pattern so that I can work on the project even when I’m offline.

For your ideas for segements, I think the quick craft fair projects is a great idea. I'd love to learn things like that. And I know nothing of Kenya, so a walk about of the area would be so interesting and lovely to see. I need to check the videos you did so far. For your question of the week, I listen and watch at the same time. I have a learning disability so I have to see and hear what I'm working on if I'm following a tutorial. It makes it easier for me to understand. I can hear it so when I read patterns I can hear what to do later on.

Hey Christa, I follow tutorials by double tapping on the right side to move forward to the next instructions ... I would say I'm a coles viewer lol. For tutorials I'm on my own focused, with sound on ... however, sometimes I click on sub titles only if I don't get what a word or words are. Btw, I watched your temp blanket video and I'm choosing yarn and colors now ... I'm doing a spring summer blanket - one year is way too long for me to wait lolol ... maybe I'll do another fall and winter one. Hugs

My answer is this, I mix and match. ALL of your options. I also will record my voice to myself reading any pattern I am interested in, out loud. Teaching it too myself with my own voice. If it's just a written one. I also look at pictures of stitches and use my voice to teach myself.

Your tutorials are great and so easy to follow. I also have a random Question: Do you have an Ice Yarn "substitution/comparable to" list somewhere? I like Hobby Lobby yarns and notice that their yarn is made in Turkey too, just curious if their "I Love this Yarn" is the same as Ice Yarn Favorite or Saver? Is it all made in the same place with just a different label?

I like to use sound and watch but if the TV is on I cut the sound off

On my iPad, I listen with my earbuds, so not to disturb my husband, and watch when needed. I recently watched a tutorial with no talking. All directions were written on the screen. It didn’t work for me. I didn’t like having to take my eyes off my project and look at the screen for the directions. I sometimes work ahead, if I know the pattern/ stitch, and sometimes I work behind the pattern if I’m struggling with the pattern/stitch currently, and I miss the next directions. ugh!

Hello Christa, this is my first time on your channel. Your craft room (I assume that is where you are recording) is amazing! You are so neat and organized). It all depends how I watch tuturials. When I want to make what I see, I usually watch when I am alone and when I can give my full attention. Sometimes I will even take notes. Otherwise, all of the other methods you mentioned can apply. I will definitely see you regularly.

I listen and watch. If I have to continue with a stitch I pause it. I can't just watch without sound, hard to watch in another language. I see so many I like but hard to follow unless they do closed caption or post instructions themselves.
