I went to 2 shows back in the 90s when Phil was not well. (6 total show in all) He was angry and in pain. And the show suffered for it. But it was punk rock as hell. It was like watching black flag in the clubs.
Who’dve think Phil would outlive them. That said we are very fortunate to see these MFERS after all the years. And to the dude who taped this. FUCK YES. GREAT AUDIO. FANTASTIC VIDEO CAPTURED. Thank you sir!!!
Yeah, its fucking nuts...this video does it a little justice but people need to experience this live. The live sound and air they push off FoH is missing from this video.
I was against a Pantera reunion until I heard it would be Charlie & Zakk. I knew it would be respectful and they sound great. Glad to see Phil got his life on track, too.
This brought a tear to my eye. I lived, and breathed Pantera as a teen. They sound absolutely incredible. Zakk is the only person who could ever step in for Dime. Thanks for this! ❤️
@@richevans609to his defense, he is from New York City which is incredibly liberal. I think if musicians would leave their political beliefs outside of the music, it would be a alot better. He is an awesome drummer though, I will give him that.
@@ianray9137people really come on the internet and complain about none musical qualities ruining their music… aka irrelevant shit. I swear everyone loves to complain
@@Rooster84yeah but if he was a Trump supporter y’all would be shitting your pants about it. Sorry woke shit has got to go I don’t care how well he hits drums with sticks
That drummer is fucking killing it. Even sounds like he's using the sticks backwards like Vin. If you're gonna hit the bell, hit that fucking thing. Vinnie's parts are so fucking good. He's being very respectful about it. Killin in too 🤘👊🤘
Love it. I really, really want to give sober Phil a chance. Vocally, he's absolutely crushing it. Everything else sounds awesome to me, but my area is vocals.
This is probably the best videos of their reunion, which has an amazing audio! Phil has resurrected and i couldnt be happier. That voice of power/thrash/groove metal is back . Rex is freaking tight! Charlie has beautifully placed himself on vince's style of drumming, but Zak , so much of criticism has been around his playing, this should probably shut their mouths!
Gonna be honest with ya Phil, I was a bit nervous about who you had playing in place of DIMEBAG till I seen Zack. Phil, I can picture him looking down with a huge smile! Zack is the only one worthy of that! You guys are the best
Charlie and Zack are doing a great job. Part of what made pantera though was the internal jam session between the brothers that was had live and recorded. They loved each other and every performance had so much heart bc every performance was a jam session for them. That's part of what I see missing. Don't get me twisted, this celebration of pantera, of the Abbott brothers is awesome. It just also makes you appreciate and miss them more. One of metal's tragic stories. Rip Vinnie and Dime.
Truly incredible to see this man. Looks and sounds just fucking crushing, just like the old days. The haters of this can fuck right off. This whole thing is what metal needs. I saw footage of them supporting Metallica… shit brah, they made it look easy, like it could’ve been their own headliner. Pantera needs to be around again.
There are some people out there that just don't understand. This is so freaking perfect drummer, charlie... Old school guitar player from Ozzy. I mean, d***, it's like a tribute within a tribute within a tribute. People have their own style and they mixed it up. It's a cover on top of a cover on top of a cover... Some people will never get how perfect this is..... There's a video out there with these guys. Chilling and discussing how they put it together. And it is exactly how I see it. The musicians talk about everything. The way I actually see it for what it is. And the real guys out there that know the bands in history will pick up on it and understand completely.
I'm so excited! I'm going to the November 3rd and I think 5th show with Metallica Pantera like I remember listening to them when I was in high school. I just turned 44 this year like never thought I'd see them in concert but here I am. It's going to be amazing
I saw Pantera in Poughkeepsie NY at the Mid Hudson civic center on March 7, 1995! Type O Negative was the opening act. I love that Pantera is touring again! Zakk and Charlie are doing it like nobody else could.
I'm watching this right now on a tablet. But I tell you what seeing a concert like this in person. With all those vibrations, all that watch all those big a**P a's is another thing it will pump you uuuup....
Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante are maybe the only 2 dudes who could pull this off… Phil and Rex gonna do their thing…but Zakk and Charlie bring that RAW vibe…
Na, Id say the majority of people in this comment section could play close enough to jam some old school Pantera with Rex & Phil. We've listened and played all these songs for 30 years. No big deal.
@@jacquelinerubidoux440 hell yeah! Thanks for comment Pantera got absolutely shit faced drunk during the show. It was the last date of a long tour and it was amazing show
Lucky haha, I was on the lawn rail for most of it but from Domination until the end I left to get my shit kicked in in the circle pit lol. I'm still sore too, that shit was intense
one more thing to note here, Phil is at least a decade younger than anyone else in pantera was. Phil and zakk and charlie too are the same age. Dimebag and vince were not they were a lot older than Phil and so is Rex too. Phil needed somebody to play with and im glad he found them.
F do I wish Phil could have freaking wised up while the brothers were both still around….. just can’t believe it to this day. I guess at least he’s honoring their legacy.
