I’m lovin it. Pantera is the other band besides Nirvana that I have a special place in my heart for. I first saw them in L.A. at the Whiskey while they toured Cowboys From Hell. Last time was 2000 at the Great Western Forum with Deftones and Black Sabbath

Pantera and Nirvana were the best of the best in the 90's. Both amazing bands.

Pantera was a juggernaut! Lightning trapped in a bottle kinda of thing. If you were there when they hit in the early 90’s and watched them progress, they were like a freight train at full speed and you either got on, or you got the hell out of the way!! They were incredible. All the other bands at that time felt it and saw it happening and even those bands that were seriously established already could do nothing but stand on the sidelines and watch as Pantera ripped through town after town taking them over! People can talk all the s**t they want about all the he said she said stuff when they broke up, but when it all boils down Pantera was on another level that no other band has ever lived up too and ever will touch. Especially as a live band. When Pantera was firing on all cylinders it was really one of the greatest things to witness in person. I was extremely lucky that I saw them as many times as I did live and experience it with my best friends at the time, who appreciated what we were seeing happen as well. I also met all of them at different times over the years. Thank you, for getting these guys together for this interview! This interview was so badly needed for all the old school fans to hear from you two!

I was a teenager when I was turned on to Pantera in 1993. They are my favorite band hands down. Their music literally changed my life. Through their music and home videos I feel like they are brothers of mine. I'm a metal head through and through but no band has had an influence on me like these guys. R.I.P Abbott bros.

I really wish Phil would have went and got his needed surgery on his back and could have taken the time, a year to a year n a half, and then maybe thing's would have been different. I always just assumed that the reason for the name " Damageplan, was because after Pantera was done, they came up with the damage plan. The plan after Phil went sideways on Pantera. I thought that made perfect sense. I'm really enjoying these stories about Dime and Vinnie. You guys should write a Dictionary, with Dimebonics, with the word's and meaning! I would buy that. Great video guy's!! Thank you.

39:26 I'm Broken was the very first Pantera song I ever heard, after a friend recommended me Pantera. I bought the single to try out, got floored, the second single on the CD was Slaughtered and I got floored twice, then the 2 others were Domination and Primal Concrete Sledge for the live in Moscow. Then I unfloored myself and went to buy the albums, later bought TGSTK and RTS on day one of release, bought the videos from hell both on VHS and DVD, AND the Dimevision stuff (thanks Bobby Tongs for letting me know about that release early)

Only Dime could play 2-3 notes on his guitar and make people bang their head to the beat. Vinny was a superbeast on drums. He's prolly almost as big an influence on metal as Dime. Everyone wanted his clicky double-bass drum beat sounds. They are metal Mount Rushmore off into the far fufure

Vinnie told the first hand account in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4SSgYw5RMB4.html Carbano threw it off the balcony at Ludz and missed the pool, denting it.

Honestly, Pantera probably wouldn’t have worked again, if Dime had lived. 😔 Phil was on Drugs and there was a lot of Trash talking on the radio from both sides. Mainly Phil side. What got Phil sober was dimes Death. It made him see reality after the tragedy. If Pantera came back together, the band would have been short lived. Because of the beef between the brothers and Phil’s addiction and mindset. What’s your opinion about this? Thanks ❤

Dime was ready to end damageplan and make amends with phil before his death. Although once that metal hammer interview came out I believe that was the final coffin in that attempt to reconcile considering he wished him harm(at that time.. time sometimes heals wounds though) I think phil would of gotten sober regardless if dime died or not. They would of made up down the road I believe. Dime had a forgiving heart. Dimes death didn't get phil sober Hurricane Katrina did because all his dealers scattered and he was dope sick for weeks.
