Sorry but that's Pantera. Those boys were the heart of the band. Nothing against Rex and Phil, but they'd probably agree. Van Halen is a similar concept
@@TheCarbunkleofTruthNo it's not. Alex Van Halen and Vinnie Paul are not more important then front men and song writers. Phil and DLR are *HUGE* parts are their respective band's success.
Is hockey the most Heavy Metal sport or not? The Sharks enter the ice to Metallica. The Stars live and breathe Pantera. Now we just need a New York team to rep Anthrax and the Kings to rep Slayer, and we're good.
I know some of the guys from Cannibal Corpse are huge Sabres fans. And Quorthon from Bathory was a big fan of the swedish team AIK (they have both hockey and football/soccer). Also, one of the guitar players from Meshuggah used to wear a Modo jersey on stage (another swedish team).
I saw them in '97, '98, and '01, and I saw the Pantera "tribute" tour in June and September of this year with Phil, Rex, Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. Zakk and Charlie are doing Dime and Vinnie justice, and Phill & Rex are killin it. If you can make it to one of those shows, I highly recommend. It's a great show.
You think your goal song is embarrassing? Remember when the Canucks skated out to fucking Coldplay lmfao worst memory as a nucks fan. That and the god awful riot
@@zerofox7104 As a VGK kind of guy, ours is just as embarrassing. We got Panic! At The Disco's sawft-ass song as our goal horn. Dallas are fortunate enough to have friggin' Pantera as their goal horn. If only Vegas would do Motorhead or something
Ha, you think this is great....you should have heard it in Reunion Arena back then, played for the first time ever in public over the PA as the team came out for warmups!
Man Reunion arena for the mavs in the late 80s and the Stars during the 90s was an incredible atmosphere. I don't think I have ever been to a louder sporting event than the 1999 Stanley cup finals
Reunion Arena!!! Had plenty good memories there, Stars games, Mavs games, hell even the old Dallas Sidekicks. Had my schools graduation there as well 03’ and even got into a fight outside the arena on my graduation. Reunion Arena was loud as fuck.
Just found out about this. As both a metal head and a hockey fan this is rad and badass. LA KINGS hardcore fan; but re-spect for the DALLAS STARS and their fandom.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🏒🔥☠️🚨
Dime & Vinnie we're both HUGE Stars fans & wrote this for Craig Ludwig in 99. The team played this in the locker room before games & between periods. When they won the Cup in 99 Pantara rode & played this in the parade
Hockey freak and metalhead here, I like the Sharks (my first favorite NHL team), Golden Knights, Predators, Avalanche, and Red Wings. I have a lot of hockey jerseys, including a Kings home jersey, and music on real CDs. Lots of favorite rock artists, too. Even Metallica loves the Sharks! Much respect from the West Coast🤘
@@ryansalmons5279 Even Vinnie Paul was also a Golden Knights fan when they were founded and lived in Las Vegas until he passed away. Sucks he died right after the team's first Finals appearance and never got to see them winning 5 seasons later. RIP. Long live Pantera!🤘
+DonaldDUHKID Are you kidding?! This is without a doubt the absolute worst goal song is all of hockey history. It's not even a song, it's just a bunch of idiots standing around screaming "DALLAS! STARS! DALLAS! STARS!" over and fucking over like retards. Honestly, every other NHL team's celebration tune is superior to this horrendous disgrace of a goal song.
I only saw one Stars game at Reunion Arena but this song def made me remember it. Being a kid, I loved being able to yell the teams name and try and bang the drums as fast as they were. Fast forward to the winter classic, it’s the loudest I’ve ever heard the fans scream that song and damn it was fun! Rip Abbott brothers!
Got to hear this 3 times tonight at work the game...during the introduction of the players and after each goal (2) vs. Coyotes! Pantera rocked American Airline Arena!
I'm a Kraken fan, but "Lithium" doesn't cut it as a goal song imo. Grunge doesn't cut it for hockey (unless you're talking Alice in Chains). Now, Dallas, go toe drag release all over the Golden Knights, then continue to toe drag release all the way to the Stanley Cup.
Please let this be the goal song forever ❤️ always had a love for Dallas, Modano was my favorite growing up although im a Canucks fan. But gotta love the hometown rep ❤️
found it! Also, to everyone! WISH THE DALLAS STARS LUCK FOR THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS! LET'S HOPE WE WIN! WOOHOO DALLAS STARS!!!!! Btw I'm wearing the LUCKY CLOVER dallas stars shirt that says MC.Benn 14 at the back of it! BUT ANY WAY! GOOD LUCK STARS! I HAVE FAITH IN YOU!!!!!!
been a pantera fan for 25 yrs or more and never knew about this until today when I stumbled across vinnie talkin about it. never was into hockey, but this just made me a dallas stars fan 100%
