I was at a friend's house yesterday, and we were sharing fav songs...and I showed him Pantera, and afterwards his comment was..."I feel like I can't play anything after that"
@@FlamedBunny Heavy Metal its the grandfather of all the metal subgenres so, if u say "heavy metal" to dimmu borgir or between the buried and me its the same haha
I love the high pitched screams as well. Course.. that's why I like stuff like Manowar, Judas Priest, Overkill and the myriad of other bands with a higher pitch.
And we just lost Vinnie Paul very recently. Heart attack at 53. Sad. Another rocker taken from us, dead too fucking young. RIP Vinnie Paul AND Dimebag.
True. It isn't empty of grove, but not not early as much. Driven is a totally different animal than Vulgar and has to be appropriated as such. Vulgar definitely spoils one...
God....listening to Dimebag through a fresh set of ears, an un initiated man appreciative of good music and the raw, amazingly unique talent that Darrell Abbot displays on this album.....after being a fan from day one.....brings tears to my ears. R.I.P Dime.....your never forgotten.
Dude your reaction to hearing "a new level" was awesome. Brought me back to when I was 15 and heard that for the first time....I think I made the same expressions you did....lol. Now that you got through Pantera, if you want "groove" in your metal, might I suggest Lamb Of God, any album really, lol.
Dude you are quickly becoming my favorite reactor! At first i was unsure of u but you have grown on me with your goofy shit but on top of it all you truly listen to all aspects of the music and seem to judge quite fairly without bias! Not many reactors take in the music the way u do!
I've been a Pantera fan since 1992 ( yes i'm that fucking old ), it's always my all time favorite band and to see you enjoying it makes me fucking happy. Thank you for making smile, i needed it. You made my day.
What is truly amazing is when this album came out. It is timeless and it changes the entire metal genre. What Nirvana did for rock, Pantera did for metal.
Been listening to this 'album' since it came out. Masterpiece of metal. Never gets old. Production is flawless. Energy is relentless. You're feeling it!
And then discovers the band HELLYEAH with Dimebag's brother Vinnie back on the drums and Chad Gray from Mudvayne on vocals. Hellyeah doesn't have the mad and brutal guitar riffs that only Dimebag could pull off, but I would put them at a Pantera Mudvayne mix.
A really great album will always get you in the mood, like Vulgar Display Of Power does. NO matter how many times you listen to it,it has that magic. R.I.P Dimebag
I loved watching your reaction. This is one of my top 3 favorite albums. I'm glad you appreciate this music. I also get chills when I listen to it. Keep up the good work my man
Love your enthusiasm man, Pantera were incredible. I recommend Kyuss, either blues for the red sun or welcome to sky Valley. Keep rocking my friend. Jim, England.
Haha there was nothing like a pantera concert , I went to see them every time when they came around , talk about Energy the pits were like the pits at a slayer concert!
He didn't like Kill Em All and alot of 80is Metallica so he is not gonna enjoy Megadeth either, Nu/Groove metal is his thing, to really get the greatness of Megadeath and Metallica you need to go deeper, they where the blueprint for alot of heavyer stuff and it dosn't suit everyone. Imo they are both very melodic for thrash bands and thats why i love them, i have a hard time with Anthrax and Slayer.
This is pure Art! Pantera is one of the most influencial bands... as a guitarrist.. I too draw my influences from Dime. R.I.P. Dime and Vinnie. May you rock in Heaven now!!!
It's really entertaining watching you enjoy this band especially considering you're probably not a metal guy. Thanks for keeping an open mind to talent. I'm actually curious to hear one of your favorite artists. I'm all ears man throw something at me
You are just a JOY to watch. It was so fun to watch you enjoying type of music that much. I've kind of been in a funk and this has gotten me excited to listen to music again and really enjoy it like this. Thank you! ❤
You’re taking me back 27 years when I was 16 and driving around for the first times like you are now bro!! Slamming my face against he steering wheel!!! Hell yeah! This is exactly how I felt then! Thanks for bringin it home.. can’t wait to see where you go next..
You're welcome. Enjoy the rest of their offerings. This album got me through some tough times many years ago. It's in my top 10 all time and I listen to every type of music. I was thrilled to see you reaction man. I got to enjoy it all over again.
Do yourself a favor and watch the live performance of Domination on your own free time...if u think your mind is blown now just wait till u see the impact of them live n Dimebag shredding live..Flawless!!! Next Album is heavier.. Enjoy
RIP Vinnie, such a sad day in music history. At least you are with Dime now shreddin the heavens. Thank you so much for the music that made me who i am today.
