pantheon is destiny's upcoming raid boss gauntlet, something that i've been wanting to see for a long, long time. it doesn't seem like old bosses will be returning at all, which is a shame, but i'm still VERY interested in getting to experience this, especially at -20 power levels. i know there is some datamined information out there, some leaks, but i don't usually like to talk about datamined information, so if there's stuff out there that i didn't mention that's from datamining, that's why i didn't talk about it.

I really doubt they can actually patch it, considering it’s a part of the encounter. But, considering the power level, could be pretty difficult to do.

Same thing with other content that Datto is alluding to, like Coil (rewards between bosses + chests during the traversal parts), and Pantheon (you'll get drops after every boss).

A full HUD editor in the same vein as FF14 would be fantastic and I really hope they end up doing that, along with shipping some preset options for those that dont want to fiddle with every little thing

I think they start with this, but Pantheon could always be expanded on in another patch/expansion/episode. They had to cram a lot into this free update in a short amount of time. Remaking the older vaulted bosses into the new engine and sandbox would take some time. However, this would be an easier place to do it in the future instead of remaking the entire raid. Im hopeful. This allows them to remake just one encounter and toss it into Pantheon instead of an entire raid.

and lets be honest: do we really need all of SotP back? i mean the sparrow section is neat and insurrection prime is a pretty good encounter but aside from that the raid really isnt anything special. same goes for literally all other currently vaulted raids aside from levi imo and maybe CoS but even that one is pushing it a bit

@@kurokofs113the rest of the vaulted raids deserved to be unvaulted with slight tweaks similar to how the missions we got initl were treated. The only old raid content in could really see being added to pantheon are the raid laid bosses. Everything else should come back in full

@@spegus6210 we dont know about Zero Hour yet, but Whisper might as well have no changes. jumping puzzle is the same aside from platforms u can summon for help and the combat stuff is the same as well aside from second room actually being easier and the boss room having a pit and a new taken ogre. i dont think the oracles being in different spots compared to where the chests were in old whisper is a signifact change. if SotP follows that design scheme then that basically comes down to switches in the sparrow section being somewhere else and bonus chests moving ever so slightly. none of the actual geometry or mechanics would change. at most we would get a master version with some champs. in that case i would much rather just get insurrection prime and move on without taking a considerable amount of dev time away from other stuff. that being said of course im gonna be happy if old raids return, i just dont see the need for that to actually happen

3:56 I think what they mean is that each 'stage' will increase in difficulty, where s1 will be at power, s2 at -5, capping at contest mode at like s6~.

Thanks, Datto. Love the new HUD, yet, I've asked in the Forums, can Bungie make text bigger, or allow that we can make text bigger? I'm ancient and diabetic. War Priest timers are unreadable for me, as are enemy names! If Bungie is really in touch with accessibility options, visual handicapped folks should get help, too. Thanks for your take! i definitely want buffs and debuffs split left and right, most of the time you know what youre looking for ('i wanna know when this debuff/buff runs out') so youd know where to look and it would give us more total space which we need imo and even if not, id rather have to look where a buff is on screen than have the danger of it not being visible at all cause the 4 on the left are full

I would argue a lot of the more hard-core players would care even less there since I imagine many just farm the raid until they get it. Would absolutely make sense as a reward though.

wait, where did they say critical info channel is limited to 2? the screenshot shows two, but idk if that means that's the limit. I think it's possible to end up with 3 during 1st encounter in crota (engulfed, weight, enlightened)? i'm thinking there might be other places in raids too where you have 1) whatever timer or mechanic is trying to kill you 2) an active buff and 3) a lockout timer

I have been begging and pleading to just give us the full list of buffs and debuffs active at any given time 😂 I wouldn’t mind if they were on the right but i also like the idea of having them all stacked on the left. Especially with moving weapon buffs over the super bar, there should be more than enough room. Even if they capped it at like 8 and pushed the lowest priority stuff out that’d be amazing. Also that mocap clip was sick af wth!

At least having some different presets for Buffs/Debuffs locations would help. I play both D2 and FFXIV and on XIV you can fully customize where you put your buffs and debuffs, however like Datto sorta mentioned I don't think D2 is built in a way to allow complete control of placing and switching HUD elements whenever the player chooses.

With them wanting to add more buffs/debuffs to the UI. I wouldn't mind it under the radar since I am already trained to look at that part of the screen even if the modifier Chaff is on you can just replace where the radar is with a larger debuff section

So something that comes to mind specifically to your thoughts on only 2 raid debuffs at a time, based on my knowledge of FFXIV raid debuffs I would think that we would probably be limited to 2 debuffs at a time individually, meaning you could potentially see a complex encounter where every person in the fireteam could have a completely different set of 2 buffs or debuffs. So just because you yourself will only have 2 doesn’t mean those would be the only 2 you need to worry about

Are they still limiting how many (de-)buffs get displayed in the left? Don't know If i'd be happy when roaring flames is pushed out of the screen again. I also agree, i would like to put my hud wherever i please

it would be amazing if we could place our buff/debuff zones anywhere but if they can't do that for whatever reason, they could have a couple presets that people can choose from in the settings.

One thing about UI, could everything have an external timer on it? It's odd to still have some perks/mods that have a timer but are internal, so it's guesswork on how much time you have left.

This is coming from someone who hasn't done a SINGLE raid in both D1 and D2. This is interesting, and the idea is great. I do have worry though. How will this work in matchmaking? Bcz just learning one boss mechanic is a lot for first timers. But now they have to remember all the bosses from each raid mechanics back to back? I know LFG is there, but you can expect everyone to want to teach you. Maybe have a raid lite version? Where it explains the mechanics to you in like the top right,idk. At least they tell you the boss list beforehand, so I guess you can just look up tutorials/write it down. Hope ppl don't take it too seriously and flame ppl for not knowing.

The difficulty ramp up, sounds to me like the activity will start at the same power, but each week a new boss/round is added, which that round is the higher difficulty n just like onslaught, if you wanna leave early you can

i really want to do contest rhulk again just to see how much my account has grown. for my day 1 clear i was using sleeper and cartesians and it was the most surreal thing ever to kill rhulk on contest. now I have 2 more day 1's under my belt and much more experience. i actually cant wait for pantheon, it looks pretty cool.

The week by week thing is probably going to be that each week after launch adds an additional boss level to the gauntlet, which continues to increase in difficulty. But you probably still start from the level 1 boss every time you go in, progressing up to the highest level

Appreciate your attitude towards react content. Fwiw, something like this still isnt just flatout stealing someone else's work, since it's basically reading an advertisement. So, these news updates that are already paid for and inform the community through you, an "expert" in the context, makes it feel fine, even if it may be lower effort than writing a script to go over the points. I understand the possibility of having another info channel on the right side of the screen bringing too much visual clutter, but I just still kinda wish we had more buff display. Even with the critical channel on top and weapon channel bottom left it still feels like 4 may not be enough on the main buff channel. Though I may be wrong and it may feel adequate, guess I'll have to wait and find out

Dang it! Why did all of you complain about the channel on the right? That looked awesome! There are very few debuffs, so having them over there is fine. You don't need to read it, you just need to use your peripheral vision to see a debuff is there.
