The TSN Hockey panel join SportsCentre to debate if the Oilers ran out of gas or if the Panthers were just better in Game 7, and discuss if the pressure got to Edmonton with the Stanley Cup on the line. Panthers' Special Advisor to GM Roberto Luongo also joined the panel to discuss what it this Stanley Cup win means to Florida.

Been a super fan of Louuuuu since he joined the Canucks. Always a class act both on and off the ice. Seeing him raise the cup finally, must admit...brought a tear. So awesome!!

As a Tampa resident and Lightning fan. Never thought I'd rood for Florida. But, I'd rather see a team win that doesn't have a cup. Now that they do, I'll never root for them again. Unless they are facing Boston. Then sure, I will.

Luongo needs a better title... Special Advisor doesn't sound like you did much other than make a few phone calls. He says he went to work every day. He should be Assistant GM or Co-GM, or Junior GM or something like that...

Just sayin' that 'Special Advisor' is very broad and is sometimes is used as nothing more than an honorary title. If I was an executive that went to work for the organization every day I'd want a better title.

Its most likely a title given to a guy they dont have to put responsibility on their shoulders if the team doesnt do well since the GM would be the one fired, meanwhile theyre still getting their input on how they think the team should be built.

Yes, all staff, management, coaches along with the players get engraved onto the Cup unless they run out of space first for their section on the band.

Luongo can react whichever way he wants. He didn't win the cup. NHL teams now hand out titles like hotcakes to retired players. Rob Niedermayer would have been on the panthers front office if he didn't leech a cup off his brother and pronger.

He played a part in building the stanley cup team, and also played a part in building the team in the dressing room when he was a player on the team while some of the current leadership is still on the team....he deserves the cup win just as much as everyone else on that team.
