How much has the game changed in the last 15 years? you would never see a player crying over a team like that nowadays, Paolo was a one off, he was made for West Ham. Hope he comes back to the club some day in some shape or form.
Other than my Dad who wouldn't have me support another club for obvious reasons. This man is the single main reason why i love football and West Ham, there'll never be a player like him again, a true true legend and i hope one day he can come back to West Ham and help out in any way because no matter how much success comes our way in the future, we will always need a Di Canio!
i'm not a fan of West Ham but even I know greatness when he walks into a club, laces his boots and creates magic on the field... I admire his passion, his love and his desire for West Ham and there will never be another like this eccentric Italian ever... God Speed Paolo
Paolo Di Canio is West Ham. Just an awesome player. I've very fond memory's of watching Paolo score some amazing GOAL'S for us West Ham faithful what a player x
He fell in love with Westham n we all fell head over heels for him. The man is a true true legend. As he said in his bbc 1 interview It has to happen it's my destiny. Can't wait for his return.
I am Italian, and you know we are often perceived as controversial , fiery, feisty, animated midgets. We often are (and i beat my chest for that) the joke of Europe, but we posses a good quality in the majority of US. A big warmful heart! Thank U West Ham for your unconditional love of the man and the game
He HAS to be our manager, i can't fucking wait for it, the man is a true legend, i will lose my shit the day we score our first goal with him in charge...AGHH i miss Paolo playing, he was incredible.
di canio was loved and respected by all at west ham. true legend.brought my young son over from ireland to his first hammers game, di canio came off the bench and scored the winner.coyi
As an Arsenal fan, I long for someone of Di Canio's skill, passion and loyalty to play for us. Its all well and good people like Nasri and Fabregas saying they love (or loved) the club and loved to play for us but no one showed this amount of dedication. And with all due respect, to a club that was languishing near the bottom of the table at this time.
PDC what a player. WHU were SO lucky to get him from us (SWFC). He even behaved superb with them. If only....if only. After WHU match of the day was so disappointing when he was at Charlton and sub!!
There's a brilliant romance about Di Canio, so passionate about honouring the club and the fans like its all one great big marriage. Seldom do you see such compassion from a player.
One of the most talented players to ever play for my club (Celtic) ... I wish we managed to keep him longer. He would have went down as one of the greats.
@hammerboy22 He is my favorite west ham player of all time, his passion and commitment for the club is the best for me when man u were interested he could have made a big issue and tryed to move but he stayed and is a west ham legend, hope he's manager in a few years
There have been some great West Ham players who have passed through the ranks of this great club who I love dearly, there have been others who used the lime light of this great club as a stepping stone to better themselves. But there has only been a few true West Ham players who loved the heart of the club, Paolo De Canio must be one of those great lovers of our great club. He'll always be a Claret & Blue!....
im glad i didnt watch premier league those times , cuz i know im gonna fall in love with west ham < which sucks to be a west ham fan these days there is a moment i remember where the goal keeper got an injury , di canio had the ball in the penalty area and he kicked it out .. never saw such sportsmanship or his goal vs wimbeldon , what a passionate player i wish he never left napoli
When players are empathic, they need a fan base where the fans love him, and thats why dicanio picked celtic, and west ham, trying to find his home Admire the player as he could of played for many heartless clubs, who obsess with winning He picked west ham, as no matter what result was, as long as you do your best for those fans, they will love that player. In this day and age, its very rare to see a player like this, and i admire him for this ideal, searching for a club where the fans gave him the love he needed, and wanted, and he could play out his heart for those fans. Maradona was like this, if he played for a team where the fans did not give him the love, he could not play. Thats why maradona did what he did for napoli, and boca juniors. When players are empathic, they should play for teams where the fans loved them, and dicanio searched for this club, and when he found west ham, he knew he was finally at home at such a club Even though i have no interest in west ham, for those fans, they only care that players who wear there shirt give it there all, and no matter what the result is, the symbiotic relationship between the fans, and the players is all that matters to these people. West ham fans just want to love footballers who want to wear there shirt, and the players who have empathy like dicanio really enjoy such clubs, as these players get the love they need to play there hearts out for these fans that love them. I admire the way that dicanio searched for that club who would give him the love he wanted, and where he did not have to care about winning things, it was all about fans loving him, and him playing for those fans. Shows you when a player is empathic, what is most important to that player. Admire dicanio for such ideals, in age where football is now a cold place, where footballers want what they can get out of the game, ans screw everyone. Fair play to dicanio, you are a lost breed of player, that people may never see again The flawed genius, that needed to be loved, and he found his home at west ham.
legend.... I dont support west ham, and not a right winger politically... but this is what makes this the beautiful game and you can't help but love Paolo
@evianfan trust me, he is not going to leave, well not until we are top championship/premier league. he loves the fans (and we love him) and until the the board do not match his ambitions, he will stay.
If he wants he can, in football the age is not the limit, as the players can come out of retirement any time they want. I will give an example of another legend- Juan S. Veron who just started playing footie again this year, at the age of 42. There is only one question left: would the West Ham manager accept Di Canio because you know- men at 48 usually don't have the stamina and mobility they had when they were let's say 28, and you know the managers always give more chance to younger players rather than the older players
Can I please ask where you got this footage from as I was the person who caught his shirt in the crowd earlier on in this clip before the interview starts. If you have the full clip could you please send it to me? COYI
all he is doing at the moment is training up to become west ham manager, he has said this himself, him as manager with julien dicks as coach, what a fucking dream team that would be
We (west ham) wont get him for another couple of seasons, i bet the davids are keeping an eye on his progression though. When he gets Swindon up to league 1 thats when his managerial ability is to be tested (im a stevenage season ticket holder) and league 1 is a very very difficult league. If he does well with Swindon and eventually gets them promoted to the championship or turns them into a top team in league 1 then thats when west ham will go in for him.
Why would he do the googling for you? Look it up wikipedia or whatever and if you still can't understand the difference, then discussing with you will be a waste of time.
@MrIrishrover2011 we all watch football to be entertained! We don't want to be bored to death. I'd rather lose but play nice football than play boring, repressive, predictable shite and win.
Glenn Roeder, you as a manager should try to get your players to work for you, not drop them because you have a personal issue , that is unprofessional!. Di Canio is a special player, even Alex Ferguson was after him for years - thinking that he has the same temperament as Cantona If Only Sir Trevor, took over 3 games earlier.
@UnknownGenius01 You should see some video about Di Canio, Lazio and Curva Sud! This man love his passions! I'm an Inter's fan but i think that Di Canio is a legend more than Totti for example. Di Canio is a man, Totti is a fucking bastard man!
