Artists tend to have crazy schedules & don't always get much sleep so they look tired alot so they cover their eyes with sunglasses. Not sure if that's why he does it though.
Yeah, musician's lives and careers mostly happen in the night hours. They're not morning people, and early morning is usually when they have to get up and do these interviews. Paolo's band was probably tired as hell in that studio session! A lot of times, when we're getting up for the work day, they've just gone to bed not too long before... I remember watching an interview with Chris Martin of Coldplay and he said he mostly is the one doing the interviews, because the band simply doesn't want to get up that early.
