"To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - The bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power They took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish... Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men Machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful To make this life a wonderful adventure Let us use that power - let us all unite."
One of the best songs I’ve ever heard. The lyrics, the music, his voice and the passion in it, Charlie Chaplin’s speech... all just mix together in order to create this masterpiece!!! 👏🏿 Too bad I didn’t discover it earlier.
couldn't agree more. it's so much up-to-date. great voice (reminds me of Andriano Celentano), great music and great lyrics. i just heard it and i think it's a masterpiece. a genuinely political song about a fact: people's lost humanism and the victory of unhuman over human feelings and freedom. This speech that is heard (somenone wrote, it Charlie Chaplin. didn't knew. thnx) is inspiring and points the facts and thoughts that we all face these days. and was written so many years ago. Tyrants and Dictators can also be found hidden in democracies also. so let us all be aware, be human, be kind (by the deepest meaning) to all others and look for all people's prosperity and well being. Peace and love is the answer to many problems throughout years, but these days we have to be more than romantic. let's hope people and Life will prevail. good day to all of you. no matter where from....
@@camronmabrysr6902 once all terrorist are demolished ,then people can be freed. But as long as one collection of people an kill and hurt others in the name of their own personal agendas, then no one can be free, ever ! All peoples of every land on Earth should be able to have their own beliefs . When you are dead, what matter does it make ,who lived on what lands or what your faith was. Only GOD knows this. People are but dust in the wind, and to dirt you shall return. Now or later it dies not matter. What matters is the hate you carry inside for people you do not even know. You know not their family ,their children, nor how much they loved each other or how many sorrows and tears they cried to see their loved ones die. Innocent people on both sides are suffering in these useless wars. All Carried out by hate and evil black hearted people that have cold souls. So called leaders that trick innocent people into believing their cause is just and right. But NO cause is just and right, if it cost the lives or torture of innocent people .
This will always be my favorite song. No matter how much time it passes, I'm here, fighting and aging and this song helps me keep going. I will keep going.
@@erinreese3849 hey stranger I'm proud of you, I know it's hard but take one day at the time! If you can arrive to bed tonight it's already a big accomplishment, not many people can say the same, so be proud of yourself! Pat on your shoulder! Things are gonna get easier I promise :)
I'm right here with you, too. Heard this for the 1st time a few days back and had to locate it for download. These lyrics are powerful and make it possible for me to get through another day. Life has brought on many unexpected misfortunes, and to be honest, I don't know how they were overcome. To many doctors have walked out of operating rooms only to say that what they had just witnessed while I was laying there on that table was a miracle only to rise. I will continue to do as long as possible.
Theres not a song that can compare to this absolutely the best well put together song in the past 20 years . Everyone can relate to this song one way or another and the speech of charlie chaplin is genius cherry on the top of the cake.
The first time I heard this track a few months ago I was in my car and it came on the radio. Wow! It moved me to tears. Not weepy little tears either. But, full-on waterworks. Sure, music can move me to tears simply because it's so fucking beautiful. However, I usually have memories associated with the song as well. I've never, ever been moved to tears after hearing a track for the first time before. In fact, I suspect it will prove to be the first and only time. THAT is how exceptionally special this song is. It's a masterpiece and I'm baffled as to why it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
@@scarlettskies100 Forgive the delay in responding. Yes. Absolutely, a masterpiece and I still fill up every time as well. No doubt it's the lyrics, in combination with the sad quality the music provides that triggers this response. When I first heard it, I thought it was much, much older (like from the 60's). Perhaps the fact it's recent is why it remains relatively unnoticed. It's as if it was made far too late. That said, the lyrics are perfect for the time we live in and reflect how the orange idiot has been such a bad influence on the world.
I had the same thing today as I heard it for the first time today in the car! It's INSANE how beautiful this song and his voice is.....😥 Namaste from the Netherlands 🙏🏼
This totally encapsulates the tyranny that has been unleashed upon the world; deliberately causing confusion, hysteria, fear, falsification, mandates, mind control and relentless propaganda.
Came here after MAYANS MC. BLOWN AWAY, goose bumps for sure. Its beyond perfect. The freaking lyrics, music and that voice equals one of best songs ever.
I just want everyone to know that I wrote "we rise into iron skies" on my cap for my high school graduation. I was moved by the lyrics and I thought they represented that these bad times and bad people will eventually go away. freedom will never perish, have hope everyone.
If this song doesnt do anything with youre soul , then you are in a coma . I dont know much . Buti feel and see that something is verry verry wrong . Take you time to wake up and realise that we have the power . And i dont say go fight outside , no on the countrary . Let you soul shine . We are powerful beings .
Yes! I was thinking the exact same thing! It just "fits" this whole crisis we're going through. The depression, the loneliness, the despear, the fear....for some reason it captures alle these emotions.... Namaste from the Netherlands 🙏🏼
“JUST as famous as Bruno Mars” might be giving Brooby Marbs a little too much credit. Homeboy’s sky hits iron about 7 feet above the dancefloor. But to each his boogie : )
Paulo’s a genius and great n very passionate singer. I hate how the internet, or as Paulo calls it, the “iron sky”, has taken over peoples minds in a very negative way. Paulo seen it coming b4 many even knew what was happening. Another great artist also seen through the bs when he quoted: “Facebook lied to you, Google lied to you” Kanye West Peace out from Glasgow 👌
love the song, but the extract from The Great Dictator is what makes it so moving. Charlie Chaplin is one of the greatest mean the has and shall ever live. His life story is saddening but he rose to fame from and with nothing but his love and compassion to make others happy while his own personal life was miserable. We need more Chaplin's in today's society.
I happened upon Paolo a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with him. This is my absolute favorite song. I'm commenting on this version because I feel the lyrics are so extremely important, especially now. More importantly is the speech he chose to use which is taken from Charlie Chaplin. You can find the complete detail on you tube. Powerful! Only 20 when he came out with his first album. Remarkable talent. We miss you Paolo! Much love❤️
Chaplin's speech from the great dictator. Still as powerful and relevant now as it was then. This tune is one that deserves recognition just as much as the speech.
With all the rough things happening in Ukraine this song came to mind and feel like it speaks for what is currently happening 🙏 love the world, pray for Ukraine 🇺🇦
World stage, sorry you’ve been brainwashed to buy this Ukraine bs. It’s a world stage, everyone’s in on it but us. No ones getting hurt but us, divisions, we should be uniting as one against the system that has enslaved us. But you’re watching the news and thinking it’s real😔
Sooo true. This song and the brilliant speech excerpt of Charlie Chaplin from The Great Dictator ( watch the whole clip on You Tube I say) , Is a universal message of strength and hope that good will triumph over evil.
This song makes me feel like my heart is breaking, whilst I'm having the most passionate soul sex with my true lover for the last time, and I'm ascending and dying at the same time. POWERFUL.
I have just decided that I want this played on my funeral!!! After hearing it for the first time today.....! I'm still blown away by the beauty of this song and his voice, it's INSANE. Namaste from the Netherlands 🙏🏼 💜
Unite as People, but remain free as individuals. Groups are more easily influenced, where the free thinking individual derives meaning from ones self and experience not others. Group think can be dangerous, it leads to brutal regimes if not careful. Dictators don't like free thinkers. Consider what people have to say and weigh it on your value, do not fall into the trap of group influence for fear of alienation.
@@R0GU351GN4L u hit the nail on the head they sent infiltration to lead groups astray I'm very much awake to what is happening in our world right now I follow noone 💚
So many people get the wrong message from this song! If you know you know. Wake up!! This song actually has power and meaning to it makes me emotional. Much love Paolo big man❤️
I heard this song for the very first time at infamous and legendary top 2000 of Dutch NPO radio2. Edition 2021. This is such a powerful song. First of his voice is sandpaper the luxe. His lyris leave an instant impact. Hearing this song in December'21 for the first time. The lyrics are so fitting for the world we live in nowadays. It has a rhythm or flow that memorizes. The groove is hitting Of all 2000 songs I've heard, this THE song that surprised me the most. Paulo it is a instant classic for me. I'll vote for the '22 edition. This amazing song reached #70!! I'm gonna dive into the Paulo Nutini rabbit hole. Thanx dude🤘
Paolo is an artist, not a commercial product. His undeniable talent that is not equal to his popularity, or lack thereof, is proof of that. He doesn't need to be making Bond songs, just making songs.
You should cry to this song, because it's the prophecy of us all losing our humanity to the evil agenda they are forcing on us all! WAKE UP MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS you've all been asleep too long❤️
Never has this song had more meaning than times we now find ourselves in. Just be brave and love one another and we can succeed as a species, but I'm afraid that the path we are on leads to the edge of extinction. Only time will tell.
This tune give me sense of euphoria !! Happy and sad flipping amazing singing from his heart. It was my Corona lockdown tune so fitting I think peace and love xx
