@@dingbat7289 check out my post on tagonggong music in Sangihe, Talaud's neighbor - it's one cultural region! Going to that corner of Indo was a dream and it took a 12 hour ferry halfway to the Philippines to do it. In Talaud there's essentially no old-school traditional music left, although there are some great string bands playing a particularly sweet island version of keroncong and Dutch-era "musik bambu" bands that play wonky marching band music on homemade bamboo instruments (a Sangihe specialty that was imported to Sulawesi and huge swaths of E. Indonesia.)
