So it just occured to me that the potential reason Luigi was so popular for his role in playing grass is that the towns population... are plants. So it would be plausible that playing the role of grass- instead of being a really shitty role- would've instead been one of the most highly anticipated roles to be cast for.

Do you think that Luigi's role of "grass" was an in-universe euphemism for corpse? Like in a "your *ss is grass" sort of way. Like their scene needed a dead body and they didn't want to tell Luigi to know he was playing a dead man? That or I'm looking too much into it.

... I really, really wonder what unseen shenanigans ensued to have Luigi somehow come off as a stellar-grade actor for basically just being a chunk of scenery. It can't just be his fondness for green things alone - his thin, limber physique? How the poor guy could be easily bested by a stiff gust of wind? The unassuming "shabbiness"? Or perhaps for a race of sentient plants, grass just gets a lot more rep than you'd normally think. At least Luigi finally has one companion that doesn't hate him - (though, judging by THAT face, Hayzee probably considers Luigi a total sucker.) The addition of a Pirate-themed mix for Cortez's presence is a nice touch. Makes the big, floating skull feel a bit more present, as a big, floating skull should. A bit of a shame you can't just shoot the breeze with him, though. Would be humorous to hear about all the seafaring adventures and plundering he's been getting up to while you're off elsewhere. "Turns out, I was dead long enough for all those economies I disrupted to restablilize. It's been great fun, ransacking the old waters, seeing what's changed..." Good thing the Mushroom Kingdom's coastline is majorly untamed wilderness. Many a World 3 safe from piracy - at least until Cortez nabs enough P-wings to adhere to the Black Skull and become a true terror to behold. (Heck, maybe that's why we don't see him after this. Guy takes up Sky Piracy and takes off...)

Far as I'm concerned, that Hayzee face can only be one of two things: A. the face of someone who's fully aware they're scamming Loog for all he's worth B. the face of someone who certainly does thrive in the, ahem, "grass" business
