im making a paper roller coaster for my technology class, thanks for thetips and all! This will really help! And nice job on the coaster, really creative :)
About how long did it take for you to construct the coaster? I'd like to organize a meet up for our homeschool group to make one. Would three hours be too short to for a group to construct one similar to yours?
+Christine Wood This roller coaster took me a few hours to complete. Maybe 4 or 5? When I do this with 7th graders, I give them about 6 hours over the course of 2 weeks. Some finish faster than others. It always helps if they watch some of my instructional videos first so they have an idea of the folds before coming to class. The kids are usually working in groups of 2 or 3. The time it takes to complete will depend on how comfortable you are with letting them fail. Often times, students will spend a few hours building, realize their original idea isn't working or they would like to do something differently, and start over. I promise you that the hard part will be getting them to stop building! Have fun. I hope it works out.
