Another wonderful video, thanks so much for sharing. I'm new to paper papermaking, and it's a fascinating process. Have subscribed and added your channel to my blog so it's easy to find again. All the best, Billie 👍
Thank you Helen! Questions: when you put sheets in your press is there something in between each sheet…wet paper, something, wet paper, or are the layers ; wet paper, wet paper, wet paper, wet paper … thanks! Also are you saying pelon in video when you sponge the water out? Thanks, thanks 🙂
Yes, I couch my sheets onto felts primarily (video about couching materials coming soon :)). Sometimes I couch onto pellon, which I mention in this video. I like #65 pellon, because it is extra thick.
Hi Helen! I use a hydraulic press but a lot of times the bottom layers of my post get holes in them even when I gently and slowly press it. I'm couching onto 65 pellon (I have no felt). Do you have any insight?
Hmmm, I've never seen that, but I always have a felt on the bottom. You might try putting something thicker on the bottom as a cushion/absorbing layer.
