The rainy day at Stoke is an English "soccer" term for can a footballer cut it when the going gets tough. Basically Stoke is a gloomy rainy town in middle England and their team was a rough tough side that got stuck in, so footballers tend to go missing there, so if a player plays well on a rainy Tuesday in Stoke it means hes good 🤣 Crazy to think that term has travelled to the states were lads who know nothing of premier league football say it in it's right context
