A large crowd was gathering
with Jesus one day
When He sent another parable out their way
A farmer went to sow his seed,
He scattered this about,
Some fell along the path;
to be trampled there right out
What remained there was eaten,
by the birds all around
He sowed his seed on the wrong patch of ground

Some seed fell on the rocky ground,
but when it grew
The plants all withered with no
water coming through
Among thorns some fell, which
grew but would choke
They competed with the thorns
and just couldn't cope
That good soil was present, but yet to be found
He sowed his seed on the wrong patch of ground

Sow for yourselves righteousness,
Reaping fruit of love for the Lord above
Break up your unplowed ground,
Seek and you shall find, reaping treasure abound
