I was just thinking the other day I needed to find a review on waffle towels. No not really, I've never even heard of a waffle towel, but now I most certainly need this sturdy beast of a towel going over my body.
Imabari has been out of stock for months at Citizenry, I cannot wait any longer. SO... Which would you choose Onsen vs Parachute? Thank you very much in advance.
Don't make me choose! :( :( :(. Onsen gun to my head... but honestly I'd say buy some $5 walmart towels until Citizenry get's them back... maybe I'll send them a message......
great question! Delicate on cold, dryer on extra low. Do NOT use a dryer sheet, and go easy on the detergent. That should keep them looking good for a long time.
I understand the value in attempting to determine absorbency using the soaking method, but the truth is we use towels in a swipe or two and we want those swipes to remove all the water from our skin, countertop, or...my pet peeve...my car after washing. Some towels remove- on one swipe - almost all the water from a smooth surface, and some don't remove most of the water after 3 or 4 swipes. The bad towels just leave smaller and smaller microdroplets on the windshield or paint with multiple swipes, and I believe the same would be true of bath towels. My recommendation is to do this test with a glass sheet on a sensitive scale covered in a fixed quantity (weight)of water allow, two swipes and measure the water remaining while still on the scale. Repeat 3-5 times and average the results. The towel leaving the lowest weight of remaining water is better in use. Nothing is more frustrating than a towel which does not dry completely; that is it's only function!! I am aware that towel mfr's treat their towels with chemicals to make them feel softer in the store and these chemicals impede absorption for a few washes. Guess this was a hot button issue for me.
