Paracord Yeti Handle - Reversible
wildwolfpack.net/2017/02/27/re... - Download the entire Paracord Yeti Handle tutorial in 2 printables (this also works with any brand tumbler)
Get paracord at WildWolfPack.net or at www.amazon.com/wildwolfpack
A paracord yeti handle is a very popular craft and actually very easy to make. This version of the yeti handle will have only cobra weave…it is also reversible.
You need:
-Scissors
-Lighter
-Tape measure
-Yeti, RTIC or other brand of tumbler
-Paracord - Get all the paracord you need from us on Amazon
-For the inner part you will need 66 inches (it becomes 2, 33 inch loops)
-For the handle you will need 16 feet, or 2 x 8 ft if you are doing 2 colors.
-For the top (the bigger part of the tumbler) you will need 9 feet of paracord
-For the bottom (the smaller part of the tumbler) you will need 8 feet of paracord.
-NOTE: I do a loose weave as I like to see the inner color show through, so if you do a tight weave you might need to add a foot or paracord onto your top and bottom sections.
Step 1 - use the paracord for the inner part and join it together to form a big loop. Then you will need to double it up and wrap it around the yeti. Make sure that the union will end up in the handle.
Now you want the paracord that you are going to use at the handle.
We will do a cobra weave for the handle, and then go over it again to make it a king cobra.
Once you have done a weave or 2, you can remove it from the yeti to make it easier to make.
As you are weaving, keep fitting it to the yeti to make sure that it has a nice tight fit. You don’t want the yeti to slip through the handle.
Once you have it fitted correctly on the yeti, go over the first cobra with another round to make it a king cobra. This give a wider handle and will fit well in your hand. Make sure that you continue to check the fit on the yeti BEFORE you trim the excess cord. You can always add or take away a stitch, but it is harder once you have cut it…I speak from experience :)
Once you have the handle all done, cut the excess paracord, and burn the ends. If you have used 2 colors, you will notice that it also is a reversible handle. In our example, we can either have the main color blue or yellow.
Now let’s begin part 2 of the project and wrap the upper and lower loops to make it easier to get on your yeti.
I am using a solid color, but it would look great with 2 colors. So now we just do a regular cobra weave over the 2 cords that make up the lower part of the handle.
Once you have reached the other side, trim and burn the ends.
You can fit it again to make sure you have a nice tight fit.
Now we will do the upper handle using the same steps.
Here is our finished handle. You can see how the handle becomes reversible, if you did 2 colors on the upper and lower loops..those could be reversible as well…that would look AMAZING!
Your paracord yeti handle is done and ready for use! Enjoy..and please share this project with a friend!

Fantastic! I love your design, the results are so sturdy. Made one for myself, then my daughter and friend wanted them. Thanks for posting this.

I like the tutorial. Just one question though. Why do you keep trying to slip the top loop over the top of the cup when it would be so much easier on you to insert the bottom of the cup into it? For example, the bottom of the cup goes into the top loop, then the top loop slides up much easier to the wider part of the cup, and then the bottom loop would go onto the bottom of the cup like normal. I'm sorry. It was driving me crazy watching you struggle to do it the way you were doing it over and over again. Other than that, great job.

Could you please do one where you talk us through it? Music is quite off-putting and distracting. Cheers 👍

Have you tried using shock cord for the loops around the cups yet? I'm thinking about giving that a try as something different.

For someone like me, who has never worked with paracord, this was not a good tutorial. You don't show how to make the knots or how much cord to use. I would have to watch it closer to see how you combined the two colors. This is what I'm wanting to make, but I'm going to have to find another tutorial to show me how to do the cobra knots.

Do you have any issues of the top strap sliding down.
@WildWolfPack
@WildWolfPack 7 лет назад
Hi Carol...the top strap should stay, but if it does slide, then you either need to add some stitches to the top strap to make it more snug, or add more weaves to the handle part to make that tighter. Thanks for the question!

Do these get looser over time?
@WildWolfPack
@WildWolfPack 7 лет назад
Thanks for the question Randy...I guess it you don't put enough in the king cobra handle (when you go over it the 2nd time), it might get loose. I do mine so tight that they are almost hard to get on the tumbler.

@WildWolfPack

Hi Lorian, the 20oz should be a bit smaller.

Wild Wolf can u post the measurements for the 20oz like you did for the 30oz...i e been making alot of 30oz handles and I have a 20oz request but not sure of the sizes...
@WildWolfPack
@WildWolfPack 7 лет назад
Hi Lorian. I will work on doing a new video with a 20 oz tumbler. If you are in a hurry though, I would just use the same size cord to start. Since the 20 oz is slightly shorter and slightly smaller diameter, I would do about 3-4 inches less on the 4 cord round braid...so make it 30 " instead of 33".
