First 26 lines of Paradise lost is important. It sets the tone, presents the theme, and experiments with convention.
Milton uses these lines to serve his own purpose. We call it invocation.

Ma'am, it was an inspiring lecture as ever. One question lurking at the back of my mind ever since I heard you having equated Milton with Moses and Noah- Can Milton be compared to Tiresias? Because, like Tiresias, Milton was also blind, and like Tiresias, Milton, too, considers himself to be the chosen one who is given the task of prophecy and who could hear the voice of God. Ma'am, please ratify my argument. Thank you 🙏.

Definitely. This parallel also struck me. Especially after reading the waste land. At the same time he is Samson too. Blindness becomes an opportunity and not limitation for these heroes and prophets.
