Good to see you yanks are loving Yorkshire's pride and joy. I live quite close to Nick and Greg and they are down to earth guys. Why does the UK produce great bands? The secret is the miserable weather the miserable the weather in each county the better the band. You can't get worse weather than Yorkshire
love Paradise Lost, so much nostalgia from my young years in the 90s listening to their album Draconian Times and watching The Crow (it came all out in the same period or at least so it was for me). Their album Icon is also really really great.
Greetings from Germany! You should definetly check out their discography! A very nice review, I thought exactly the same, when I hear that Song! A great Song to start the new record.
This is just so great song! This road you're on, you got to listen more Paradise Lost! One of my favourite bands through late 90's to this day. Forever Failure is killer older song, As Horizons End is just one newer one.. Hard to pick just a few songs of them.
Icon is probably my favorite album, but I think Draconian Times has the most impact. It's a real landmark for me in time.. It just set the bar so high. I love Katatonia too but Paradise Lost is just some other level. edit: what I'm saying is listen to Enchantment from the Draconian Times album
Well my friend I guess I have been lucky enough to listen to them since their first record and the "never ending blowing my mind" have never stop. is not late to listen to the album Gothic
YTou know i follow you since u started to react to Katatonia... i could say "welcome to my world"... Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Anathema (the old ones, the doom ones, the ones u haven't react to yet), My Dying Bride.. I dont think honestly Paradise Lost have been "inspiration" for Katatonia... instead, they both grew up inside the "doom wave" at the beginning... so, more like "mutual inspiration".. Though I could underline the fact that being scandinavian and being british is SOOOO much different, and i guess you can hear that. Anyway, I know u dont like "advices" for new songs.. but songs from Draconian Times sign a point of "consacration" for Paradise Lost, when they switched from the core raw doom to more "doom gothic rock/metal"... maybe a step to the rare and short period of unione between those bands I've said before. Always a pleasure to watch your reactions, friend. Above all when u turn ur ears to doom/goth metal :) Greetings from Italy.
