Billy is a legend in the Boston music scene. Not only a great industry icon but also a great friend to many. Some of my favorite memories and happy times is when Billy and Jef Cole would come to my shows and be there as stage hands, just to help out an old friend. Having grown up with both of them I adored every minute of those rock N’ roll shows when I would catch Billy out of the corner of my eye just sitting there taking it all in and smiling, both of us enjoying every bit of what we were doing. Great job Billy.
OMG such a great interview-so good to see you Billy!!!!The years I worked there with you, Tim, and all the others were some of the best years of my life
Hands down, one of the best clubs ever! Seen so many amazing shows there over the years, and lucky enough to have played The Paradise a good amount too. Love that place!
Others we saw...Cheap Trick, Patti Smith, Mink DeVille, Rory Gallagher, J Geils Band, Alvin Lee, Midnight Oil, Nick Lowe, Dire Straits, David Johansen, Lou Reed, Ramones, the Police, the Motels, Jim Carroll Band and all the bands from the UK coming to US for their first tours...just off the top of my head...greatest club ever in Boston
So many great artists I saw at the Paradise back in their early days: The Cars, Suicide, Psychedelic Furs, Cheap Trick, Ultravox, Talking Heads, DEVO, The Police, Japan, Lou Reed, The Jam, Magazine, Iggy Pop, Squeeze, UK, with Human Sexual Response opening for many of them.
Forgot to mention that the Paradise was the Garage and the Boston Club prior to Don law purchasing it. My father, uncle and his partners owned it. Amazing history.
