That is the right stuff for 5th of January :) watching here on ski-holiday in the Pitztal, Austria. Last year in July I was in Meduno, (not far from Bassano) and fell ultimate in love with it.❤ I did there my first soaring experience and also my first solo flights without trainer guidance, including first field landings and very little cross country adventures. It was simply amazing 😍I hope to get there minimum once a year, it is not round the corner 1.100km to drive, but it is worth.

Everybody is in Bassano these days 😀 Indeed an outstanding place to fly! Your video has some kind of Bassano feel - inspirational flying with a lot of wings around you. One can treat Bassano as a little playground for the first XC flights because it's so easy, but it also offers many options for long and adventurous cross country flights. For those interested, on my channel you can find a video thoroughly explaining how to fly un classico di Bassano - the "standard" 100-120 km triangle most of the XC pilots have on their must -have- fly list. I love Bassano, maybe see you there!
Oh yes, Bassano! The classic route Tapetti - Panettone you flown there I've done a couple of times, and it's nice to see how other people do this. Nice calm soft conditions you had there.
After more than 30 years and several thousand hours of flying, I really do believe that the top priority is to fly safely and in a polite way with others. That's how I always aim to fly anyway, as best I can! 😀 I also do believe that the best pilot is the one who is nicest to fly with. 😇 That's not as easy as it sounds! As in life in general, it takes a concerted ongoing effort to be nice to hang around with - in the air and on the ground! 😉 It doesn't just happen on its own! 😊 (I'm still working on it! 🤓)

Last year first time visited Bassano and directly hit my 15km xc flight for b licence finally. Unfortunately weather conditions were not that good with a deep inversion but still a really great place, also Meduno is worth to visit.
If you fly east in Bassano like you did then it's easier, you fly low over the ribs until pannetone and only reach maximum height at pannetone height. This works very, very well. Towards the west if you want to cross the Brenta it is of course a must to make the antenna maximum height. greetings go out
As I mention in the video, some pilots were flying low over the ribs until near the Panettone launch on this day (actually a very good day, with plenty of good thermals) and it worked for most but not all i.e. some sank out (actually quite a few). 🪂⤵😓 If your priority is speed, push along the ridge until you meet a crux, then climb. 🏃♂🏇🏁 If your priority is having a nice relaxing time and enjoying the views - especially at a new site - take each climb to a comfortable height before you carry on. 🪂↗😊
Looked beautiful...starting with the "grassy" & nicely sloping take-off, majestic mountains and splendid thermalling conditions. Very envious and looks like a fantastic PG vacation destination. Very different from the brown, weedy and rocky So. Californian thermal launch sites near me in San Diego. Also looks like you are enjoying the Advance Weightless harness. Cheers from the USA.
i must admit than when there is so much people in the same thermal, I struggle to be attentitve to the thermal. Also, I'm curious, how do you attach your camera when we see you from the front? I see you fly with the Skytraxx 4, did you had the chance to test the 5?
Hi, Great video. Planing to go to Bassano this year, hope to get some nice flights. Can I as what camera do you use for recording, is it go pro 360 or insta?
I'd say in absolute terms, it's not really that dangerous to have the riser right on the gate of the carabiner. But the gate must be the weakest part of the carabiner so might as well not have half the wing pull right on it. And on some models, who knows if the riser could somehow end up working the gate free...@@Florian24
