@@lisamiller6794 The crap is the owners of this company! Have you seen the working conditions? All the materials used from the start to the end of the building chain are carcinogenic and the workers don't even have a pair of safety shoes. Go to hell Paragon!

sam pedro nothing but a cheap built framed microwave kiln with malfunctioning controller . Don’t waste your money buy Evenheat, Olympic or Skutt you want regret and customer service is great . Paragon will never accept that a kiln from there factory has any issues with the kiln itself. It’s always the customer that’s wrong

How do you replace heating elements ? A complete $500 firing chamber has to be replaced , I wish I had knew all this extended maintenance purchase before I purchased this kiln from paragon . What a complete waste of $1200 after 3 firings heating elements burnt out. this kiln never kept the accurate temp, always had to adjust lower temp bc it was 100* higher all 3 testings and then elements quit. Nothing but more cost and higher maintenance after a couple firings. I have 2 bigger Olympic kilns that I’ve never had any issues with and I take very good care of my kilns. I wanted to try ceramic fiber paragon for testing glass only even after reading all the bad reviews. Now I know, Reviews are most important before making a useless purchase from this factory.

It’s likely that an element connector burned out. That can be repaired without replacing the firing chamber. If the temperature is off, you can use thermocouple offset to adjust the controller.

The instruction manual shows how to repair an element connector.

After 3 firings it should not be going out . I know nothing about replacing elements and thermocouple. I’ve been very careful with this kiln. After checking the loose wires I set it to 1300* twice to see if it was the problem but same before my bullseye paper didn’t even change, glass didn’t melt. I checked the TC, it is set on K . I have all my paperwork diagram of the wiring and instructions. I went out and bought a meter to test the thermocouple. Apparently this kiln has faulty parts if it’s burnt out , it’s a new kiln straight from the factory warranty is a year. Closest repair service is 4.5 hrs. Away. I was told after the fact, that Jen ken was the best for ceramic fiber kilns. I’m looking at their warranty, which is 2 years plus less maintenance cost and easier to replace parts. Any input on Jen Ken kilns? I actually have a dark imprint on the inside showing both heating elements on each side of the kiln. Beyond frustrated .

@@arnoldhoward2076 where do I purchase a connector? Is this kiln just going to be high maintenance after every use? I’m not a fan of electrical maintenance. So I have no clue to how to replace elements. First time firing went up over 100* to my set temp. So I’m sure this kiln was not inspected correctly at the factory plus i have a card with 5 different signed names that made the kiln. Bead door is not totally sealed, 2 screws were missing on the front and now I know why bc hole was stripped.

@@lisamiller6794 if your SC-2 is still under warranty, send an email to info@paragonweb.com to get an RGA number. Then return the kiln for repair. How did you check for loose wires? Which wires did you check? I don’t have personal experience with JenKen fiber kilns. The people who own the company are nice.
