I am, as is typical, blown away by the execution and precison this grp consistently maintains, no matter what the fight...it speaks not only to the talent of each of your players individually, but the cohesion y'all possess as a grp..there is no question why y'all are number one, and it is a position well earned and deserved
@agamerkid I'm not certain, but the nameplate addon is either "Tidy Plates: Threat Plates" or "Aloft". Of the two, I would suggest Threat Plates, but I've heard Aloft can work as well. One thing to note is that Threat Plates is a plugin to Tidy Plates. Just do a google search and install them both.
@Mikrobitz You're choosing to watch this, no? You don't have to watch the videos to know what's going on. There is a VERY small majority of people that actually watch the boss fights to know what's going to happen because they enjoy the "element of surprise". Blizz does this to test for bugs. To let the average (No, Paragon is not average) player test it out. Tho you may not believe it, it does help with tuning and bugs.
As always Paragon, I congratulate you and stand in awe of your level of raiding ability. Cata is shaping up to raise raiding to next level, this hunter plans to bring her A game and then some
Mikrobitz: A) Blizzard already stated that the bosses are to easy and will be buffed. B) This is normal mode, the Heroic version will be significantly harder. C) This is Paragon, most likely the best guild in world, not some average guild.
Well this is cool. We actually get to see most of the model as we fly about. The problem with old Ragnaros was that usually you were just staring at a reddish pillar as you fought him
I have yet to see how the mighty Al'Akir fares in his combat against the 25 crusaders/conquerors, but from Paragon made the fight sound very epic. The deep voices in the soundtrack in the beginning of the video máde this fight for me =)
@GamingVanilla Al'Akir is as much of a god as is Ragnaros. They're both Elemental Lords, servants of the Old Gods. You have to bear in mind that Blazer Vs The Lich King is a Fan-made video, thus, holds no actual Lore in it, it was made for fun.
@PwnNubtarzz well they use to play with this kind of raid, their roster is created from wotlk players, so, they are still the same person :) and it's beta atm! and yeah, finnaly a hunter PoV, really great! gratz on the kill guys!
@Outofrangelol that is why they call it beta... they already buffed the hell outta a couple of raid bosses.. Maloriak comes to mind. The numbers arent set in stone yet.
@k0ksii If "teh warrior" is verdisha, he's probably the only person in the raid doing aoe damage since he's tanking. There's also a damage buff from the adds.
When your resto druid puts down the AoE green circle heal, how do you get the glowing green circle to show on the ground? All I see are streaks of leaves when I use it and my particle density's on high. Maybe it's because my graphics card sucks?
Great kill, very nicely executed, and looks quite challenging to me. One thing I had wandering on my mind the entire fight though; how incredible is that druid tank over there, that he managed to survive so many attacks from a sword which is about 10 times his body, swing by something so big that you can only see his bottom?
whats the name from the threat addon at 2.19-3.14 is it omen? if yes, how can i configure it that it look like in the video? greezz (sorry for my english) =P
@RayKillzya they wouldn't post the insanely amount of tries they might have done before this kill , and don't forget that they like , play for profession so they don't enter in the equation.
alright, there are about a million comments about the hunter's UI, but it seems only one person has commented about the paly tank's UI and he didn't get an answer... I would ALSO like to know what that paly tank is using to change the color of the health bar of a mob that he has agro on? the last guy guessed that it was omen but wasn't sure. I don't think it's omen, I don't know what it is, and i would LIKE to know. Please help! >.>
One question for the pet users in this raid. I would be glad if you could answer it. Is the pet able to attack the boss in the final phase? Or is just buggy and does nothing?
@Ccbroo Its nothing like the thunderaan boss encounter. Not even close. Also, there are 4 elemental lords. This is the elemental lord of air, there wont be another one.
@Graviteh I hope thats not vanilla youre talking about because 10k-12k was on very very high side of gear for a tank that is, and as for 97k dps where do u see that?
What mod is the person on POV duty using for combat text? It looks splendorous. Could you send me a message or something with the name, as I don't check comments all that frequently.
@Mysentro Its a normal mode m8 progression for the top world guilds comes in the heroic modes, and i think blizzard is going to cater to the hardcore with the heroic modes, they have already said that the normal modes are too easy and are being buffed
thumbs up if your exited for cata raids. seein the #1 guild in the world not downing a boss with 75% of its raid on multiple different bosses is intriguing! "Stop looking for sense and logic in a game that mails you dragons."
Okay, I never wanted to be one of these guys that ask what addons are used. But how does the hunter manage to give recount, omen and the unit frames such nice skins? Could u or someone else post an addon list? Would be very neat!
@helldevil555 Yeah but think of it this way. When at lvl 85, bosses at vanilla content are still skull. They make it -1 for the fact that if the level is too high for the players, it would be like 99% dodge, 99%parry 99% miss and 100% chance for the boss to hit you. like a special catagory for bosses and it shows up as ?? no matter how high of a level you are.
@helldevil555 Yeah, Raid Bosses don't really have a level. Technically, they're Level -1. But "Boss" Err... Level ?? (Boss) is a special level really-- It's [Your Character's Level] +3. They have static HP and Attack Power, but a dynamic level for all other purposes (such as hit)
people talking about retri palas being bad, that is simply not true, I have done over 20k DPS in raid with my retri.. there is some luck involved ofc! but with retri, there isnt really a rotation, more of a priority system.. and it takes some skill to master it!
@ingofreak well isn't the lore a "make as we go along" kind of thing? :p It just dissapoints me that a game that I left 4 (maybe even 5) years ago delivers a boss encounter of an exact copy of Thunderaan, only with a clitchy-looking fly-in-space-of-nothing fight. The game is supposed to change, that is what an expansion is supposed to do, but actually if you started out in 2004, the gameplay, and the models were pretty much the same as now - with the exception the flying without wings thinge.
@alokpinto Not shure, but I think Al'Akir does alot area dmg + casts those area lightings which does dmg + whack tank. Basically it's just dukenuke him down as fast as you can and avoid those lightnings and stormlings. This is how i see it, I might also be wrong, I'm not a pro.
This fight looks absolutely amazing (and I love a hunter PoV) but I'm starting to worry that cata is looking just like wrath. 6 paladins and 5 druids in one raid group. Most other classes (warrior,dk,lock,mage) are only represented by 1 person. I wish I new the best way to get input to blizzard because I feel that it's a major issue but posting on the forums to me doesn't seem like it will get to them in any way.
How can people still be feeling this game? I STOPPED with this game 4 YEARS ago, and when I saw this I was like "oh this is Thunderaan"... oh wait is this ACTUALLY what the end-game boss of this game looks like? After 4 freakin years!?
@d5782 Well im pritty sure that Blizz has Paragan aswell as Premotition and some other guilds on there beta by purpose, Reason why: Feedback on the raid contet wich is conret and they can help blizz making the encounters better wich might be hard to do with Pugs in raid...
@ingofreak my problem is mainly with the size of the model. Thunderaan and Ragnaros were its max max, and the clumsy way in which the people that made this boss ultra-huge realy makes it show its flaws: the blade goes through the ground texture when it hits something and even its cape goes through the ground + the super magnification shows the buildup of textures. It looks awful! With a game that earns about 50 million a year you d expect people to make a better model in .. maybe 5 years?
